I'm writing a paper for school. In it, an imaginary friend named Myra and myself discuss the issue of the Bermuda Triangle. "She'll present the arguements and I'll present the facts."
Here's what I have so far
Myra: Do we both agree that the BT exists?
Kai: The area known by that name certainly exists, but whether or not there's anything unusual about it is another story.
M: Fair enough. Columbus' sailors reported strange lights and mermaids.
K: The report of the lights sounds like a meteor shower. We all know how sailors in the olden days thought sea cows were mermaids. Their scientific name, Sirenia is even from the Sirens, mermaids of Greek mythology.
M: You're a scuba diver, you must admit that there are many shipwrecks in the area.
K: Yes, it's a busy route and accidents are likely to happen. Especially since the Caribean is hurricane prone, and in the olden days, the hurricane cycle was not understood.
M: But the search and rescue operations didn't find any wreckage.
K: The Gulf Stream was not widely understood until recently. It could have moved debris that was floating or in the water collum out of the search area. Also, remember that scuba gear is still a relatively new invention. We've only had it for fifty years or so, and the ocean is very big. Today, we have found a lot of wrecks, and PADI says Bermuda is one of the biggest places to get their Wreck Diver specialty.
M: We can't discuss this matter without getting into Flight 19. From what I read in a book, five well-trained pilots disapeared on a sunny afternoon.
K: Actually, it was quite stormy and they were still in training.
M: Then why did the book say that?
K: Because that's what sells books.

I want to make this as complete as possible. Any ideas on what to touch upon?

When is this due? It would be disappointing if you got a great idea from this forum after you turned it in.

Anyway, at the risk of being too late:

I would add in all the other "triangles" that have been mentioned throughout the years, and somehow mention the relationship to the major shipping routes, dangerous waters, or whatever. Also mention if one were a true mystery then the world is covered in mystery (at least in context since we all know the world is a mystery)

Or you could write what the real problem is;
Residual energy from the submereged city of Atlantis is to blame for the mysteries surrounding the Bermuda Triangle. Unfortunately, at the moment the city sank to it's quick and complete demise, the City's cloaking device was active, making it nearly impossible for modern day explorers to pinpoint it's location. The lights in the sky come from the ancestors of the few survivors who fled to higher ground, as they search for the cities remains.

Kai: Did you ever see a cloud that looked like a dragon?
Myra: Yeah...
Kai: And was it a real dragon?
Myra: No, just my imagination.
Kai: There you have it. Our minds look for familiar shapes. It's how we recognize our parents. I've seen hieroglyphics that look like computer headsets. Does that mean the Maya had Plantronics headsets?
Myra: Of course not! I never thought of it that way!

She's not some random woo-woo that I challenged to a debate, she's supposed to be my gal pal and we're talking about it as friends, in a Betty-and-Veronica type way.

I'm waiting for the sequel: Kai and Myra vs Alien and Predator: The Final Battle. In this one the Aliens and Predators have decided to join forces in order to defeat the Deadly Duo. (The Velociraptors from Jurrasic Park were asked to join with the Aliens and Predators but they declined, deeming it a no-win situation.)

But the negotiations wiped out whole planets.

OT: Just thinking . . . It would be a good match-up - Alien vs Velociraptor. They're about the same size and according to some paleontologists, velociraptors might have been quite intelligent . . . Hmmmm.
