Don't take the girl barely counts as music, not even close to a real love song.

I'm a country fan, but most things Tim McGraw did were second rate.

Well, not in a traditional sense. But he did give his life for her in a passionate way...

Meh, I agree. That song is my favorite of his, I think. I usually pick one song per country artist that I like, the rest is so-so.

Well this thread isn't about bashing Tim McGraw, and he sure does have a pretty and talented wife, so I'll have to let it go at that.

Plus I always took it that she dies at the end of the song. He says he'd give his life for her, but many people say that when they know the reality is they won't have to.

She's my kind of rain, is one of the songs he sang that I like. Not his performance, but the song itself.

We need a thread for that, though

Talking about Tim Mcgraw

I love this song

Lets Make Love

Quote:
Baby I've been drifting away
Dreaming all day
Of holdng you
Touching you
The only thing I want to do
Is be with you
As close to you
As I can be

Let's make love
All night long
Until all our strength is gone
Hold on tight
Just let go
I want to feel you in my soul
Until the sun comes up
Let's make love
Oh, baby

Tim:
Do you know what you do to me
Everything inside of me
Is wanting you
And needing you
I'm so in love with you
Look in my eyes
Let’s get lost tonight
In each other

Let's make love
All night long
Until all our strength is gone
Hold on tight
Just let go
I want to feel you in my soul
Until the sun comes up
Let's make love

Let's make love
All night long
Until all our strength is gone
Hold on tight
Just let go
I want to feel you in my soul
Until the sun comes up
Oh, until the sun comes up
Let's make love

Oh baby, let's make love
All night long
All night long
Let’s make love

Jean

I love that song but every single time they get to the part "the childrens hell will surely (or is it slowly) go by" I get a lump in my throat.

To Doodler, a huge thank you for pointing out "Figured You Out" by Nickelback! I love that song now--best bass line ever.

I was going to mention that one too.

Another nice one:

The Power of Love by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. It's hard to get more outrageously sappy.

I'm with TRS on 'Something' by the Beatles. Says everything simply, melodically & sweetly.

One other that will no doubt raise snickers, but that was special for me at the time is 'Forever Autumn' from the WotW. Loved the simple haunting melody and the message.
