Well all of us here in America know that Europe is still basically in the dark ages (they still have kings and queens..I mean honestly!) so what can they possibly know about air safety? [/tongue] ![]()

I didn't see the MythBuster episode, but the episode summaries I have been able to find online essentially say this:
When they set up some typical aircraft instruments along with some cellphones inside a Faraday cage (to eliminate outside interference), the instruments did show some interference. However, when they tested cell phones on a private aircraft on the ground, the instruments showed no interference. The conclusion they came to was that the FAA is simply playing it safe with the "no cell phones" rule, because they can't test all possible combinations of aircraft instruments + cell phones.

When my boss asks, I just tell her I'm very efficient at time management. She naturally assumes I've completed all my work. What I don't explain is that my time management consists of reading BAUT for 9 hours and working vigorously for 1 hour every day (I work 4 ten hour days a week) heh.

The old "accidental" spilled drink in the lap is a lot less likely to land you in jail or lynched by overzealous co-passengers.

Not only is it a bad idea, it is not a new one. I remember someone's funny computer column from one of the PC magazines at least ten years ago with a little batch file you could stick in someone's autoexec file. In those days the airport security types would make you turn on your computer and would watch it till you got the boot screen. This thing would put a 9... 8... 7... etc. countdown on the screen. I never heard if anyone got arrested for that stunt. Really, if you want to play pranks on people, do it to people who don't have guns.

UK-minister held for questioning, again.
