It's a conspiracy!

Actually IT has a tendancy to block anything they feel may be a distraction from work. It usually has little to do with the content of the blocked material.

My school librarian saw me looking at the BA's blog and said she would ban it, because she thought the name "Bad Astronomy" sounded dirty. I don't think she did it, though.

And, obviously, message boards are banned at school, so I post from home or other people's laptops.

It would be less gibberish-like if it were written from right-to-left (as it is supposed to be) instead of left-to-right.

Awww she's probably old. Back when I was a kid "giving someone a BA" was mooning them, as it was an acronym for Bare *donkey*. There was also other names depending on how elaborate you got with your mooning and your gender. And even though the names have no technical bad words in them, decorum prohibits me repeating them as we all have good imaginations here. That and I'm an old geezer and you are a high school girl. Folks might think ill of me. (I would)

It looks like someone just typed a lot of random Arabic characters. As far as I can see they're pretty much all stand-alone characters, which are only ever used in isolation; real Arabic is written with a combination of initial, medial and final characters, so that the letters link together properly, with an appropriate start and termination to each word.

It would have been pretty surprising, really, if anyone who actually spoke Arabic had been involved in the production of this ... um ... resource.

Apart from not being connected, they're backwards.

Are you talking about the letters? They're the right way around on my screen.
I thought you were referring to the time-signal.

I mean that within each word, the letters are written in the reverse order, i. e., the first letter of the word is on the left instead of the right.

Ah, OK.
I don't know enough Arabic to tell which is a word and which isn't: laam raa' 'alif baa' taa' or taa' baa' 'alif raa' laam.
