Default Piggies...

While reading this thread, "Piggies" began playing in my head.
The final verse particularly:

Everywhere there's lots of piggies
Living piggy lives
You can see them out for dinner
With their piggy wives
Clutching forks and knives...
to eat their bacon!

This is plain blasphemy!
The author of the story from Sun-Online should be forced to eat tofu for a year.

Some of you make it sound like bacon has been outlawed or something. Bah, it's just ONE study. Quit whining.

(I mean that with all respect and politeness.)

But it will be in Schools, hospitals, works canteens, all because some lawyer and some bean counter will worry about the hypothetical chance that they might get sued is someone who ate bacon their get's cancer.

This is what happened with beef in the 1990's when BSE hit the headlines when they suggested a theoretical link with BSE and CJD. (They look similar)

Why? You must REALLY love bacon if you think what I said is bannable!

Okay, I guess if I offended anyone, I apologize. Just woke up and I'm not tracking right yet.

Sure, some will, and so what? Unless you need bacon every meal of every day, that's not a major problem.

Industries come, industries go. The makers of spats, top hats and buggy whips are doing particularly bad here in the States.

wonder if the pigs started this off in the news? people have been eating bacon for well forever, they have to pick on something to say causes cancer, even now sex can cause cancer to the womb and in the uk they are starting to give 12year old girls an injection to prevent this from happening to them in the future, the fact is they dont even know for sure if it will work!
what i want to say is if you want to eat bacon then eat it, if you get cancer and it is bacon related (im sorry but i have to laugh) then its your fault no one held a gun to your head and forced it down your neck , people know the risks of things and if the want to play roulette i think it is their choice. i eat bacon but in moderations like all food , if i get cancer then i am unlucky, it just seems to me that life is full of risks and you cant avoid all of them.
so do you want to stop having sex because you dont want to give your wife/ girlfriend cancer? live like a monk or nun for the rest of your lives? dont eat the food because it will kill you one way or another? come on we would all walk around like drugged up zombies, irritated cos we didn't get our coffee or cigarettes or chocolate fix, no one would talk to any one incase we got beaten up, live and let live!

That's a lot of medical misunderstanding in one sentence.

It isn't sex. It's the Human Papillomavirus, known as HPV. The virus is one of the possible causes of cervical cancer. It is still possible to get cervical cancer without having HPV, thus the fact that some women who are vaccinated will get cervical cancer anyway. However, the vaccine will prevent women from getting HPV; that, they do know.

I´d say once a week would be more than enough...

Notice: I also love bacon, but I´m aware of its downsides.

I hope fish head bacon is still OK to eat.

Fish heads, fish heads, roly-poly fish heads.
Fish heads, fish heads, eat them up. Yum.

Tofu picks up the flavor of what it's cooked with, that's why it's so good with soy sauce. The author might be sentenced to eat plain tofu for a year, instead. Blander than bland.

You could stir fry the tofu in bacon grease...

One of my fond memories of youth is visiting my aunt down South, who made french fries by deep-frying them slowly in a kettle of bacon renderings. Oh my Lord, oh my Lord, that was heaven!

I think Southerners believe all that extra fat just makes their arteries too slippery for plaque to adhere in the first place.

I like bacon in a salad; not "Fakin' Bits" from a jar, but real crumbled crisp bacon.
And bacon grease mixed into the dressing.
