OK, somehow I'm Nanny Ogg...but then, she is one of my favorite characters!
http://quizfarm.com/test.php?q_id=10962N Next I'm Captain Carrot. Go figure. Last edited by schlaugh; 16-November-2007 at 03:26 PM. Reason: Next character in queue |

The text said I am Carrot, however I got this:
Commander Samuel Vimes 81% Carrot Ironfounderson 81% Gytha (Nanny) Ogg 69% Greebo 69% Death 63% --- I was also only 38% Rincewind! ... interestingly, this is the first time anything anywhere has associated me with a DWARF (Carrot) even if only by adoption! Edit: I'm a little suspicious of all the "Carrots" showing up in the early results...

I'm a Commander Vimes type. And I didn't even need to take the test to figure that out.

They've got the wrong questions for Granny, because I'm assuredly not Carrot. And Susan, which is who my best friend is, isn't even a possibility. (Actually, they're missing several of my favourite characters. I'm something of a Lady Sybil, too.)

Many of this type of "who are you like" test have a selection process weighted towards the most popular or well known characters. At least that's how it's always appeared to me.

A popular book series by British author Terry Pratchett. Huge in the UK, fairly common in the US. A parody of fantasy, and indirectly a parody of sci-fi using fantasy concepts.

If you like very good writing, funny stories, good characters and fantasy lampooning, you need to read Terry Pratchett. A cracking good story teller.

You scored as a Carrot Ironfounderson
You are Captain Carrot Ironfounderson of the City Watch in the greatest city on the Disc – Ankh-Morprok! A truly good natured, honest guy, who knows everyone, and is liked by all. Technically a dwarf, but only by adoption. You’d rather not be reminded that you are the true heir to the throne, but that does explain why people naturally follow your orders… Carrot Ironfounderson 63% The Librarian 56% Death 56% Lord Havelock Vetinari 50% Greebo 38% Rincewind 31% Cohen The Barbarian 31% Commander Samuel Vimes 31% Gytha (Nanny) Ogg 19% Esmerelda (Granny) Weatherwax 19% I'd go more with The Librarian, actually.

Those two are my least favourite, actually--they're the first ones he wrote, and the books get much, much better over the years. Thud!, for example, was excellent. (However, in English, it's "Unseen University," which is similar but different.)

In Dutch it is the Closed University.
Very good translation also. But puns are hard, if not impossible to do. ETA: The identity of the Dutch translator(s) is unknown. The pseudonym Venugopalan Ittekot is used ETA2: Apparently it is the artist/scientist/editor Ruurd Groot. His wife Mieke translated the Dune novels under the heteronym M. K. Stuyter S.J. Always thought that name was suspicious. Last edited by Halcyon Dayz; 17-November-2007 at 01:50 AM. |

I see. I simply re-translated the German term. I read 2 or 3 books in English. Just do not remeber which ones. Thinking about it, the translation "unsichtbar" which in deed means invisible is a good choice, because "ungesehen" or "nicht wahrgenommen" are not so handy in German.
