Default Youtube: Amusement never ends!

Folks, last night I ran across a series of the most amusing clips on Youtube I've seen to date. Apparently, there's a Japanese game show called "24 hour tag". They lock four guys into a gymnasium for 24 hours. Every so often, a dude wearing a full body suit with lettering on the chest pops up out of nowhere, and the four guys scatter! When someone gets caught... well, let's just say they do something terrible to him. I'm at work, so I can't view Youtube and get you specific links, but a general search for "24 hour tag" will do the trick. There's a whole set with subtitles if you don't speak Nipponese.

But let me give you an example: At 2:30AM one of the guys who happened to be awake noticed that there was a rope hanging down from up above that hadn't been there before. They all look at it for a few minutes, then run! A dude wearing little lights rappels down from above, catches one man, and then slaps him as a penalty. Slapped him HARD. The subtitles read that the man said "They didn't have to come from above just to slap me!" Hehe.

Also, there was another show my old buddies that were stationed in Okinawa raved about. I don't recall the name, but it was one of those game shows that was done on the city streets. Three girls dressed up like bunnies would have three cards. One of them would have a money bag on it, and the other two had skulls and crossbones. They'd pick a participant, show him the cards, then shuffle them. The point was to select the moneybag card. Unfortunately, that card had a hidden panel to change it to a skull and crossbones as well. It was not possible to win. When the participant invariably failed, two men in army fatigues would chase him down, pin him to the ground, and use an electric shaver to destroy his hair. They wouldn't even cut it evenly, just a few passes to botch everything up. Men, women, teenagers... anyone and everyone. They told me that it was a very popular show, and despite everyone knowing how it worked, they always found someone willing to play. They even had an hour long special one time. They picked a guy to play who happened to be an athlete, a long distance runner. He easily outpaced the two guys in army fatigues. They had a little helicopter and everything. They lost the guy in the crowds at least a dozen times. They stationed men in the subways and all major areas until he turned up. They finally get the guy, and out of respect for how well he ran, they just trimmed him up a bit

Also, do any of you know of any really good Japanese game shows where I can get a DvD of a ton of episodes? I'm certain my grandmother would get a kick out of it, and Christmas is rolling around soon...

As a native Oregonian, I have no need to go look for that. I know. (To defend them a little, Portland can be hilly in places, and gravity works as well there as anywhere else.)

I can tell you how they managed to do that, but it might spoil the fun of watching it. . .

Ok; not YouTube... and not quite amusing. But; interesting enough to tack onto a video thread of some sort.
Boy 6, limbo-skates under 57 cars a minute
I wouldn't say limbo, since that's a particular dance and position. But limber to the point that it doesn't look real.

Mr Earl, I just had a look at a few parts of that 24 hour tag. That... is weird. I'm getting a kick (and so are they) of how they let the runners get comfortable enough to ignore certain "dangers", then pull the rug right out from under them. Mr Picture Show Guy, for example. And the whole "taking turns hiding under the table". As if the taggers aren't watching these little strategy sessions. Hehehe.

Yeah, it's great, isn't it? Here's another.

It's apparently a gameshow called "Cat Wieghtlifting". Cat lovers, there's no worries here. The cats aren't the weights, they're doing the lifting themselves. There's three strays they're using, apparently. Maybe four. And all they do is put out progressively heavier fish, and see if the cats can steal them. We get a good time, and the cats get an exotic meal. Everyone wins.

I've been enjoying Let's Paint! TV on Youtube. It's a nice cable access program about painting, exercising, blending drinks, cooking pancakes... Very educational.
