I think it's not so much the unstable as it's the lonely and forgotten, for whom the whole-family-holiday everyone's-supposed-to-be-happy stuff puts their own situation in stark contrast and makes their situation look even worse to them.

Hi, I think it is sometimes, a difficult season for the confirmed introverts.
The rocks, the islands. Of course, they fool themselves that they don't need anyone . But....there is this thing about Christmas that they feel mocks them.
All of these people that don't even know each other...."enjoying something".
They must find it all damned inconvenient. Human...all too human .
Alas, the introvert paints himself into the cormer and, by definition has no place to go, for he has abandoned all hope of a warmer relationship with humanity, and the holiday is just the last straw ......for him.

Will they ever learn to lose their hate and abandon the dark side.

Best regards, Dan

I prefer to be alone , but not depressed. Although the media magnifies the Holidays to be with your love one or be with Someone which that makes it more depressing , I dismissed it. I don't entertain it in my mind , instead make myself not to indulge with such mushy feelings but focus my eyes to my son.
I prefer that my son is happy and enjoying the holidays and by that I don't have time to think of myself.

"Lonely and forgotten" does not always equal "confirmed introvert". For example, ever heard the expression "shut-in"?

In the meadow we can build a snowman,
And pretend that he is Parson Brown.
He'll say "are you married?",
We'll say "no sir";
"But we only want to fool around"

Ever hear "Walkin' Round in Women's Underwear"? There's a song that will put me in an incurably good mood for most of a day.

For reasons that are unclear to me, my wife loves that song (and no, not as a hint to me).

Red face xmas

And what about Xmas office parties & other orgies?

And for the less rural areas:
Quote:
Sirens blare!
Are you listening?
In the lane
Guns are glistening.
A beautiful sight,
We'll rob stores tonight.
Stalking in an urban wonderland.

Gone away is the rich man,
Here you stay in the ditch, man.
We hear a rap beat
As we outrace the heat
Stalking in an urban wonderland.

In the vacant lot we'll burn a tire
Which will soon attract the local heat.
He'll say "Move along!"
And then we'll fire.
And someone else will fill in
On his beat.

Later on
We'll conspire
As we sweat by the fire
To face things uptown,
The deals that went down
Stalking in an urban wonderland.

In the burned out building we'll get funky
Having spent some Benjies for real jack.
We'll have lots of fun with mister monkey
As soon as we can get him off our back.

We got snow!
Ain't it thrilling?
Though your nose gets a chilling.
We'll frolic and play
The Colombian way
Stalking in an urban wonderland.

In the tattoo shop we'll get our arms done
With some drawings that are real obscene.
When it's time to pay we'll flash our handgun
And trash the place before we split the scene.

Sirens blare!
Are you listening?
In the lane
Guns are glistening.
A beautiful sight,
We'll rob stores tonight.
Stalking in an urban wonderland.

Stalking in an urban wonderland.

Stalking in an urban wonderland...

Two chess champions are in the foyer of a hotel, bragging about their tournament victories. The clerk comes over and says "Guys, you have to leave."
The chesmasters ask "Why?"
"Because I can't stand the sound of chess nuts boasting in an open foyer!"
