Default Trekkers are to Star Trek as x is to...

If Star Trek fans are Trekkers, it has always annoyed me that we Star Wars fans just have to call ourselves "Star Wars Fans".
Star Warriors?
Is there an official word?

(2 K's in Trekkers.)

If you must have a group name, how about Jedi? I hear a lot of SW fans refer to themselves that way.

I don't know. I'm a science fiction fan.

SW fans are the ultimate fanboys.
And that is what (some of them) call themselves.

The Star Wars Fanboy Association.

(BTW: it's Trekkies or Trekkers.)

Re the Trekkies/Trekkers dichotomy,

If you just like watching Star Trek, you're a fan.

If you're a fan who goes to the conventions, you're a Trekkie.

If you're a Trekkie go in constume and full prosthetic makeup, and actually learn to speak Klingon or Vulcan, you're a Trekker.

If you're a Trekker who gets mad when someone calls you a Trekkie and spend ten minutes explaining the difference to them, you're an embarassment.

Well, young fans like myself sometimes call ourselves Padawans, but I was wondering why there isn't one enconpassing word in the vein of "Trekkers".

Why do you feel you need one? "Fan" doesn't define you by what group you belong to, but by what you love. You don't need a special name for it.

For StarTrek it's trekkie, trekker or trekkist, depending on whether we're talking about a weirdo fan of the costumed variety, a general fan, or a trek trivia specialist.

I fixed the title.

You forgot the most abundant name for star trek fans in your list:

"nerd"
