Wink The Legion of Super-Skeptics

Exhibit A: The BA's blog post for today.
Exhibit B: Exerpt from number 146927 on that same page:
Quote:
Don’t forget that you are also a super-skeptic (not sure the latin name for it), in the likes of James Randi, Carl Sagan, Richard Feynman and Rebecca Watson.
Just remember, with such great power comes great responsibility. Use it wisely.
Of course, super heroes hardly ever use their real names...
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create cool codenames for these members of the Legion of Super Skeptics.
Good luck, agents!

Captain Missouri-- the Show-Me Man! (Or Captain Jamaica, for Futurama fans.)

The Researcher-- never takes anyone's word for something. And his sidekick, Background Boy, who always checks out how polls and statistics are determined.

Wondering Woman-- never satisfied with an explanation, she keeps questioning.

The Observer-- He come from a race of cosmically powerful beings who have vowed never to listen to anecdotes; he may only... observe!

How about pairing Wondering Woman with Persistent Woman. Then as a duo they have the power to ask the questions and get the answers.

I liken it to the shark. It hasn't evolved because it never needed to. So when the recent articles came out on another forum that said men evolved faster than women I realised that they are already superior.

Look back at when they were created one of dust, clay and ash the other formed from the material of flesh and bone. Already off to a head start. Of course this didn't go down with some of my friends but the girls liked it. Then consider evolution ... the male has had to evolve because of a single processor while the other is multi-functional and multiple auditory input.

For both of the species the intellectual advance is to get the wondering happening and this is where one of the species is fully switched on already. We poor gents might need to find the on switch long before any actual practice of evolution of intelligence.

I would say it has probably happened given just how hard it is to make a dent in some fields. When one looks back through history some of the greatest contributors receive so little mention.

Are they so perfect already that Wondering Woman is just toying with us?

Cheers

Ghostbuster-Buster-- points out obvious flaws in "ghost hunters'" methodology.

The Unspinner-- able to translate politicians' vagueness into cold, hard fact. (Is his secret identity John Stewart?)

Mister Calm-- cannot be swayed by appeals to emotion.

Truthinator-- with the power to turn Truthiness into Truth!
