Since politics is forbiding hear, I would like a place to go to debate the political issues of our day, like Yahoo! used to be.
Does anyone remember Yahoo!'s message boards? Under each news article, there would be a board in which one can post his or her views. I loved that. If a politician was an idiot or there was a problem internationally, I could express my ideas and views and challenge others. Yahoo! had a time out mechanism in which you could only post so much then it wouldn't let you post again for a while. That was lovely. It prevented what I hate, these long draw out posts you get at forums that last for days in which you quote, post, quote, post, etc. etc. that last pages and pages of this. I really don't have time for that. I got stuff to do and debating in which each post takes an hour of my life to prove some stupid subject in which I really have no control over is correct, is just a waste of time for me. If Huckabee's being dumb about evolution, I want to express that, not write an extensive article about it back and forth all day. So, does anyone here know a replacement for Yahoo!?

FWIS (From Where I Stand) is a good forum to discuss politics, but not if you are going to troll, and you have to keep it polite. There are several BAUTers over there.

go to www.chevelles.com and sign up for the "Current Events" forum.
it gets kind of heated there from time to time, and one of the members from Pennsylvania is running for Congress under the banner of the Constitution Party. and, just for fun, every now and then someone starts to point out the flaws in the theory of evolution, and there's even a few that think we never went to the moon. but, over all, common sense prevails and a good time is had by all.

Actually, I think trolling is kind of childish. If you don't have the interest in backing up your opinion, why should people have to have it inflicted upon them?

well, you could be a "paper troll"--there is (or used to be) in the Philadelphia Inquirer, a page of "hate ads" where you could say pretty much what you wanted. Ok, maybe there were some guidelines, but I read some and they ranged from minor gripes about slow driving to an overt threat against someone's life (the would-be victim wasn't named; I wonder if it would have been rejected, or sent to the police, if he was). It has to have a nonzero audience, if only people like me who read them just once to see what they were.
