For some sites the problem isn't so much to link to the image as it is to use the IMG tag to put the image in the page so it's fetched from the other server every time the page is shown but there are many sites that don't like links directly to their images either and wants links to go to the page where the image is.

Some of the latter has a mechanism to check if the link is directly to the image and complains loudly when that happens.

Kaptain K wasn't actually shouting in his post, he was quoting the result of clicking the link, with a fairly good imitation of the font size.

Well, that's interesting. When I clicked on it the first time, I got the image, so when Kaptain K. replied it didn't mean anything to me. Just now I got the message. Perhaps the webmaster noticed the traffic and put the message up after I viewed it.
