I did have a crush on Wilma Deering (Erin Grey) when I was younger (sigh) - for those of you that remember the ol' Buck Rogers series...
And Daphne out of Scooby Doo. I'm afraid Velma just doesn't do it for me!

Aerie of Baldur's Gate 2.

When you meet her, she's the quintessential damsel in distress who, by the end of it all (through a fairly well executed evolving story system), turns out to be a tough as nails combat machine capable of laying waste to vast armies of opponents, and then swinging the big steel up close and personal.

Cute, devoted, utterly viscious. There is nothing more giggle inducing than her exclaiming "Oh my!" in a shocked prim soprano voice as she pounds an enemy into bloody gobbits swinging the Maul of the Titans on a critical.

Modern RPG female characters have evolved nicely from the old conehat in the castle tower routine. Lets face it, who wants a high maintenance bimbo, anyway? Gimme the firey wench who calls demons from the Hells to do her bidding...

Just don't make any wrong moves in that relationship. Though I suppose you could scorn her as a test of the saying.

One of the rare times one would have means for a direct comparison.
