Default It was a dark and stormy nebula...

The Bulwer-Lytton contest celebrates introductory paragraphs to novels that should go no farther. Please enter your own composition for an SF or fantasy story in the B-L tradition (writing so bad it is almost good). Doing it in the manner of an established author is a bonus, but not necessary. It can be an intro, or a bit from the interior of the story. My initial entry:

Young Ensign Davis struggled against the force field pinning her to the bulkhead as the alien extended ropy ocular stalks toward her. "So this is the best the Federation can send against the Empire," its voder blared in a flat metallic tone.

"I'll never talk!" she cried as the creature rested three rheumy orbs on her collarbone.

"We'll see about that," it replied as its eyes slid down the front of her dress...
