I don't have that web page bookmarked where you can find out if the
Earth has been destroyed. Did anyone check? Are we still here, or not?

You're still here, thank goodness. If Earth got destroyed, I'd have to go study some other world.

Mmm. I think I'm going to need a cite for that. Argument from authority is still a logical fallacy, even after the world ends.

I was going to happily report that 10 days later and the Earth has still not been destroyed.

But the revival of this thread is making me think that it might not stay that way for long.

BTW, Carole King was on The Colbert Report a few weeks ago. She reported on the imminent destruction of the Earth musically:

Wasn't that a day on the Mickey Mouse Club?

"Today is Doomsday, you know what that means!
The Antichrist will be our guest..."

"Oh boy!" says Roy, laughing heartily and then keeling over from a heart attack.

(Cubby plays a rimshot.)

"Well, boys and girls, Roy had that coming!" says Jimmie.

(all the Mouseketeers laugh)

"But we know that he's somewhere now that's better!" Jimmie flashes one of his patented ear-to-ear grins and it's frozen on his face.

"Help me! Help me!" Jimmie tries to say as he grimaces in his death throes. His mousekebeenie falls off his head as he topples to the floor.

(all the Mouseketeers laugh)

Cubby plays another rimshot and yells "I'd like to challenge this Mr. Antichrist to a drum off!"

"And so you shall!" says the Antichrist in a low central European voice as he walks onto the stage, scans the Mouseketeers and then casts an evil stare into the camera.

(all the Mouseketeers scream and run away)

That does explain quite a bit, though.

Yes, the world ended. It was so traumatic that we're all in denial.

Nor anything else. Buy a pack of Starburst candies and enjoy the show.

This all sounds like a very interesting topic: What would you do if you found out the world ended last week?

What didn't you bring that you should have?
Was it purely natural or totally divine?
