Default Seven Wonders of America

Good Morning America just said that they had some experts decide on 7 wonders of the US and that the list will be unveiled sometime in May. Neil Tyson was one of the experts, and from the teaser they showed, it looks like the KSC is on the list.

Does it appear that they mix natural and human-made wonders, or that
they went just for human-made things?

The Seven Wonders of America

1) Its a wonder our language is still called English.
2) Its a wonder we haven't killed each other yet.
3) Its a wonder the world still puts up with us.
4) We still wonder why people vote for either political party.
5) Its a wonder that we haven't kicked California out of the Union.
6) Same for Texas...
7) Its a wonder that so many people in the world whine about everything we do, yet when the excrement hits the fan, we're the ones still expected to cough up the most help...

Grand Canyon
Hoover Dam
New York City
Mount Rushmore
Kennedy Space Center
Moana Loa
Carlsbad Caverns

Don't forget Stevie Wonder, and Wonder Woman. And Wonder Bread.

eta: Just realized that "Wonder" is one of those words that just looks more and more wrong/stupid the more you type it. Wonder. Wonder. Wonder. argh!

The seven wonders of America appear to include one in Canada, one in Brazil, and ten in Peru!

Of course.
They are all part of the Americas.

The two American Continents are more than just the USA.

Whoops---mea culpa---mis-read the site's intent; apparently the regions listed show only which proposed 'Wonders of the World' are located within their boundaries, not the Top 7 of each.

I have a strange feeling about this... Deja vu. I recall seeing a website
several years ago with a long line of square thumbnail images of candidates
for the list of "Seven Wonders of ..." wherever it was. I think visitors to
the page could vote. All I remember is that I looked at a few of the
enlarged pictures, and I didn't vote. Seems to me it might have been
"Seven Wonders of the Modern World", but included the Egyptian pyramids
(since, unlike the other ancient wonders, they still exist), and I found out
about the website from a link right here on BAUT.

This may be the start of the Seven Wonders mania.

Each state tourism board coming up with the 7 wonders of thier state.

Jay Leno coming up with the 7 wonders of the White house.

A consumer products company coming up with thier 7 wonders of products.

Ok, so this is the story, the OP refers to. If Niagra Falls makes it, I hope they don't annex the Canadian Falls, like that tourism ad from some time ago did.

That's true--the Americas are two continents, as are the American Continents, North and South America are each a continent, BUT "America" is the US.

To pick at the nits... It depends on who you ask.

For me, I never call my nation "America."
Ever.
I refer to it as either : USA, US or United States.

It's rare that I call myself an American too.

I vote for the U.S. national debt. That's certainly impressive.

That is exactly how I refer to US Citizens

ETA: Exactly isn't the right term...
Usually I just specify that nationality- rather than "I am an American." I say, "I am from (or In) the United States."
IF I'm going to use 'american' I will tag the US in front to specify that is the portion of the Americas that individual is from...

It may seem silly to some folk- But to me it is just as silly, if not derogatory, to refer to US citizens as "Americans." It bothers me.

Besides, it would be the rest of the US that gets kicked out. Plus, we have alot more experience being a seperate country. Tried it twice. Worked out ok only once, but batting .500 aint bad
