Default Fun stuff (hopefully)

The Flight

We had hard times, could not make pay,
prospecting out Capella way
But then we found, from radar blip,
an ancient race’s un-Real ship

It took hard work for us to learn
to make it go and how to turn.
When in command of what we saw
we headed inwards to the Core

It’s crowded there and not much fun
dodging stars on pinball run
We found a hole, as black as sin
before we knew, it pulled us in

We stretched right out, a mile long
accretion disk sang fatal song
Spiralled in on tangent dive
we came back out, but not alive

Event horizon changed our gears
and sent us back ten thousand years
We had to dance the spacelane fling,
to strings vibration we did sing

Lack of care had to our cost
spun us round and we were lost
But then we found the un-Real Drive
ventured where fantastic thrives

Time-span plunge through M-Brane depths
led us to our quantum deaths
We found charmed quarks adorable
which made our lives more probable

Finally we’d had enough
un-Real space is Real-ly tough
We thought to set our course for home
though alien spaces we did roam

When back amongst the Real once more
we spectro’d large stars by the score
Arcturus then did point the way
to where in space our home place lay

Rejecting un-Real phantom drive
increased our chance to stay alive
Used hyper speed, as quick as think
then hyper drive went on the blink

We cruised in from Rigel’s locale,
on fusion drive and solar sail
Our hyper drive was finally
fixed in un-Reality

With Beta Lyrae floating by
a fancy orbit we did try
Dodging neutrons, not much fun
ship tried to fly, up its’ own bum

We hit a cloud, at light times five
sudden stop, did we arrive?
Hard to tell, it came to pass
when last thing through your mind’s your arse

Dog Star bright, huge ball of fire
saw dragons there, don’t call me liar
Photonic flames, we flew in haste
swallowed whole, we came out waste

Barnard’s Star we thought to ride
from heavy protons we can’t hide
They strip away the flesh from bone
a high-charge diet, second to none

At last we came across Old Sol
welcome, warm, gravitic hole
Things had changed since last we saw
peace now reigned, there was no war

No pollution, no-one died
no politician ever lied
Prices now were much more real
no-one killed and none would steal

A mystery it was to see
it didn’t make much sense to me
But things aren’t always what they seem
I stretch, I yawn; oh what a dream!

Thought you might enjoy this - I wrote it some time back for a writing site & pretty much got told Rhyme & rhythm is so passé...

Oh, Acolyte, this is very nice poem, I will surely take its print, because I have never seen before such awesome composition of poem, You are looking a true poet.

PS: your rhyming is perfect one, and really co-relates with the second and subsequent line. congrats.

I love poetry!

The daylight faded, as starlight sang,
It was a mild night, as the alarm bells rang
The coppers were shooting for us again,
As we headed thataway, with Libby and Gwen

The journey wasn't long, in the Senior's years
But when Mary left us, we left her in tears.
Cold stasis or years was a decision we fought
Most of us went through the years.

I don't just do funny... *grins*

Origin
Cacophonic neutrality, is its favoured form
Math’matic feasibilities, with all of them the norm
But hidden cosmic stresses, over others favour some
The tension grows, they start to sing, and finally Become

Strange laws that dictate how they act, are built in from the start
And govern how it comes to pass, for change lies at the heart
All is one and one is all, but fragments soon do come
Vibrations ring until they loop, a massive thing for some

While forces drag inertially, the leading edge spreads out
The fog of light is ionised, and particles pair out
From edge to edge, the vacuum’s clear, scant mass obscures the view
Swirls and walls of clumping gas, which tachyons streak through

Admit it’s all chaotic, rules only work when big
There’s chance and fake telepathy, if deep enough you dig
It all seems doomed and futile, an accident unplanned
To make it work takes something more; our lives - to understand

Ah... haiku...

Mountain
Rock stark against sky
Eagles aerie, crystal air
Monuments of Earth

Trench
Mariana’s wound
Cellophane life, sparkling deeps
Oceanic scar

River
Lifeblood falls to sea
Cleansing nurturing life’s stream
From creek, mighty flow

Desert
Sliding grains of sand
Whispering to dust devils
Desert in motion

Shimmering heat haze
Metal-blue sky, roasting sun
White bone on a dune

Panting lizards pause
In shade of swordgrass truckstop
Flicker-move and gone

More fun...

A lot of Bull

Farmer Jones had three black bulls
The large one boss of all
The middle one’s content with lot
And so to is the small

Said large, ‘I’ll service forty cows
A happy full day’s work
I’ll take those heifers near the gate
Don’t in my pasture lurk’

Said number two, ‘there’s twenty there
Down by the old gum tree
I think I’ll find that’s just enough
To sate the likes of me’

Said smallest one, ‘that sounds like fun
I’ll join you in the task
There’s ten down there, won’t need to share
‘Cause ten is all I ask’

Just then a roar from cattle truck
Announced a new arrival
And when they saw the load in back
They re-assessed survival

The tailgate swung down with a crash
Huge bull came stalking down
Although the large bull owned the range
New King had come to town

‘I think I don’t need all those cows’
The large bull grumbled low
‘I might just give him half of them
A welcome, don’t you know’

‘And I with ten will happy be’
Declared the middle bull
‘The rest I give to promote peace
My schedule was too full’

The smallest bull just pawed the ground
Churning up the sod
With lowered horns and heaving breath
His head began to nod

The others turned, ‘what do you do?
You’re trying to pick a fight?
That monster there makes three of you
For bulls might’s truly right’

Said he, ‘I sure don’t want to fight
Yet ground I still will pull
Just so the big guy understands
I’m not a cow, but Bull!’

Grin! Ok a bit of prose for you:

Time enough for love

is time enough for love

It's not time enough

for much else

A day in the life

of an elephant

is not long enough

for the rest of us

I have a love,

she's a sweetheart of a woman

tough as nails, heart of a lioness, and as comforting as a kitten.

Yes, I'm smitten, with that kitten, though I don't know why,

as she can shoot the fleas off a dog at 500 yards.

Here I have made one composition of the poem on global warming:

Name of poem : Global Warming:

There is a great chaos on this warming
Few are blaming to each other and quarreling

Some are raising the finger towards sun
People of earth really taking a great fun

Most of them are busy with the discussion
lot of them are surely doing words contradictions

The problem remain the same as it is
But earthman are saying do something please

It is now become a gaming by throwing a ball of responsibility
But today we are looking that people are losing their compatibility

If ask to someone what is called global warming
He is saying that he has to do nothing

But he expects something have to do earlier
And second one is saying he will try for it later
