For a while now if you look under 18 (minimum legal age to purchase alcohol) you've had to show ID as proof of age which absolves the store from responsibility for serving a minor with alcohol.

Sticks' image is a damning indictment of a stores inability to tell the age of a customer to the nearest decade.

Give it another 10 years and I'm sure we will need ID to leave our own house so that the government knows where everyone is all the time.

OR; he's being deeper than I initially gave him credit for... Intelligent Design?

I see Acolyte got there before me. ooops!

That's a pretty liberal policy.

Compare it to the recently implemented policy by Wal-Mart in a US area where the minimum alcohol purchase age is 21:

Our state liquor stores (a concept I've had a hard time getting used to, since California doesn't have 'em) require ID for the entire group, not just the purchaser. Logical but a pain, and besides, what prevents the minors from just hanging around outside until their adult friends have bought the booze, just as they've been doing since time immemorial (or at least the onset of age-specific liquor laws)?

Looks like a deliberate hit-and-run mis-direction to me---like "Identification" wouldn't fit in the title?

maybe Frued said this : the uncoordinated instinctual trends are the "id"; the organised realistic part of the psyche is the "ego," and the critical and moralizing function the "super-ego." because he couldn't buy any booze in that shop either!

or the shop owner could not spell "identification"

I thought you need Intelligent Design (ID) to buy alcohol. Having false ID is a punishable offense.

Such IDs are available from The Discovery Beer Hunter Institute.

It's really just a statement of the store owner's beliefs. showing off his intelligence by being able to encapsulate an entire philosophy AND it's proof in just 4 words.

It goes like this...

Beer (& red wine, particularly Aussie Cab Sav) is true ambrosia. It is why it has become so basic to our way of life. All Real Men know this instinctively which is why they gather regularly in Church... I mean bars, to pay homage to the golden fluid. The Glory of Beer has such power it has been know to reduce Real Men to stumbling, incoherent behaviour.

This is obviously the effect of the presence of Beer because such Real Men are, at the same time, great fighters, magnificent specimens of manhood such that any female around must needs fall into their arms in awe & capable of performing amazing physical feats.

Beer (& red wine, particularly Aussie Cab Sav) could not exist by random chance. To try to conceive of beer evolving randomly hurts the brain, requiring the further intake of beer until the sacrilege goes away. Beer could not come about from the collision of two brains - that only happens when the power of the fist swing is so truly awesome the mere pressure of the air generated by the movement pushes the other Real Man's head out of the way causing the swinging Real Man to fall towards his opponent.

Therefore Beer (& red wine, particularly Aussie Cab Sav) must be the product of a carefully thought out Plan, Conceived only by some truly Benevolent Amber Al(e) who wanted Mankind to have a pre-Heaven taste of Glory.

Therefore, the presence of Beer (& red wine, particularly Aussie Cab Sav) in the world is true proof of the existence of a Creator, thus

No ID - No Beer.

Of course in this politically correct climate, even a Real Man has to try to cover up truth from the Hoi Polloi & so he can't make it too obvious it's Beer (& red wine, particularly Aussie Cab Sav) he's talking about thus the obfuscation on the sign.

Always wondered what Mr. Bundy's full first name was. Now I know. Thank you.
