Default If you want to get more energy on the very next day..

I am telling my experience: I normally eat 2 tea-spoon sugar before going to bed at night, it helps me in maintaing my very next day's stamina and energy round the day.

you believe it or not, but my experience is true, ofcourse it is not for those who are having diabetese.

I think the sugar works in the night time a pivotal role play for the next day, I think it helps the current day's loss of sugar deficiency gap feeling. It is helping the abondon stock of glucose in the blood!

what would be the right cause against of such experience!

if i drink a Pepsi right before going to sleep, i actually sleep better and longer than if i don't.
i think i must be so used to caffeine and sugar that it has a reverse effect on me..

Well, Suntrack, that´s not what doctors say, I´m affraid. Anyway, be sure to interpolate a teeth brushing between eating sugar and going to sleep.

Eating sugar before bed does give you more energy the next day. However, here is the important part, you actually need to not have eaten vast quantities of sugars and simple starches already during the day. But this isn't the case for many people in many countries. But I do know what you mean. When you don't have insulin resistance and you're body is low on carbs, a carbohydrate snack before bed can help you sleep and feel better rested the next day.

Caffeine is well known for keeping people awake, but if taken just before bed it can actually help many addicts to sleep.

How does this work? AFIAK, the body burns sugar pretty quickly. I'd love to see an explanation of how eating sugar before bed gives one energy the next day. Are we talking sugar or more complex carbohydrates?

Thank you. I presume it works by killing their withdrawal symptoms.

If you cut out carbohydrates from your diet, in a few days there is a good chance that like many people you will feel restless. Eating sugar can then help reduce that restlessness. So can more complex carbohydrates. When a person is resting sugar isn't burned up quickly, rather it is often turned into fat quickly. But if a person is low on carbs and the dose of sugar isn't large it will tend to stored in the mucles and liver.

For someone whose diet is already full of sugars and simple starches it probably isn't going to help.

On my lunch, sometimes I eat mall food and down a pepsi. Then, I feel tired and want to take a power nap.

For someone who has depleted their blood sugar and glycogen reserves, a small amount of carbs will take the edge off, allowing for more restful sleep.

That "edge" is for our survival. It's basically the increased nervous energy we need to get off our duffs and go find food. Knowing that helps us to appease, it, to put it to bed, so we can put ourselves to bed.

What works for me are a couple of low-salt Saltines (there's an oxymoron, for you), well-chewed, and thoroughly mixed with ptylin, the enzyme in our saliva which turns starch into sugar (dextrose). Dextrose is important, as it's immediately absorbed into our blood with no conversion, while table sugar, sucrose, requires conversion, isn't easily converted, and can cause heartburn (a sure sleep-killer if there ever was one).

Two to four crackers while reading before bedtime hits the spot!
