Default EPA Power Profiler

I thought this was cool:

Lets you know how your local (for us Yanks, that is) power is produced, in term of fuel (gas, nuclear, coal, hydro).

We use a lot of coal hereabouts in Atlanta, it seems.

It was pretty much what I expected given the choices that I had...Primarily 73/23 coal/nuclear.

But; as they say on the site, that's the source on the grid and not what you are actually paying for.

So; Somebody, somewhere, is getting the clean energy that I am paying for, and I end up getting the crud. My supplier is supposedly green, and the pamphlets show 99% gas, and the rest is wind, bio, etc. Since this supplier is part of a multi-community cooperative agreement, I would suspect a good portion of our area is paying for clean, and getting grime.
