Have you ever heard of the astronaut carved out on the ornaments of the Salamanca Cathedral [Spain]? Well, days ago, some people sent me a PowerPoint presentation about it. At first I thought it was a hoax, or some kind of Photoshop doctoring. But I´ve found out that the figure of the astronaut was indeed inserted in a recent [1992] restoration, by Jerónimo Garcia, who´s choosen the astronaut as the symbol of the 20th century. Very cool.
Here´s a link to a detail, on a Portuguese site.
