My brothers and my friends like it, but my kids hate it. Really stokes the furnace while snow camping.

I just wanted to add that the corn should be drained before you add it to the mix. Otherwise you'll mess it up.

In that event, I'd probably rather have canned tuna fish (drained) mixed with Van Camp's pork 'n beans.

Span and cornbeef hash was my favorite dinner, when I was a kid. Sheesh! could a meal be any more unhealthy?

Hi Buttercup,
That doesn't sound too bad. I happen to like tunafish. Here in Rhode Island I am fortunate enough to get fresh tuna locally...even fresh broiled at
good restaurants. Top of the food chain. I've never tried camping with
beans and tuna. New cullinary directions build character!
Best regards, Dan

I went to a town festival a few months back. They had the usual food stands, but one that stood out was selling things like deep-fried Twinkies, Oreo cookies, etc.

Yes, there was a line for that stand <sigh>

Yep, at the county fair they have deep friend candy bars. I have never tried one but I admit, I am curious.

You could always get some onion ring batter (mix; powdered) at the local grocery store, coat and deep-fry your own. Lots of people swear by deep-fried Mars Bars (or Almond Snickers here in the US).

I'll pass, though; don't need all those calories or carbs!
