Default Lego shuttle

I almost put this in Space Exploration.

The BA just blogged about this model of the shuttle, made from Lego! You have to check it out.

From dailymail.co.uk

Quote:
With painstaking detail, two Lego fans have reconstructed a space shuttle launch that looks remarkably like the real thing.
Complete with flashing booster lights and a vocal countdown, the Lego creation does everything but lift off.
From gadgetvenue.com **

Quote:
This Lego space shuttle is made from a massive 65000 bricks. It took 1590 hours to build.
Quote:
The Lego space shuttle has a simulated launch that has flashing lights on the platform accompanied by a vocal count down.
It is unclear how tall it is, but estimates are that it’s not actually that big and just a few feet tall.

O... and I found a Lego "Space Shuttle Discovery" on Amazon

It takes a good eye or a good 3d computer model to create something like that.

It's not the first time it's been done though, although is impressive each time it's done.
I remember some other sizeable lego shuttles but I think they were orbiter only.
Legoland does have a launch complex complete with shuttle.

Here's some other random ones I found that I also find impressive.

That is very nice and a ton of time I do not think I could have done that.

My son has that one. It didn't cost $400 though (it was about $120 from memory, bought from a large retail outlet)!

Wonder what the price discrepancy is here...

Great model - retractable undercarriage, satellite in the payload bay, etc
