Beginning with orientation tomorrow and Friday, I am on way ( hopefully) to gaining a degree in Aerospace Engineering. I'm hoping for a job with NASA at MSFC but if that doesn't work I may do work for the Army at Redstone, one of the Aerospace Contractors in Hunstville such as Lockheed-Martin or Northrop Grumman, ULA in Decatur (sorry Publiusr ), or Axys here in Cullman. I though about SpaceX but I want to stay somewhat close to home .

From what I've seen, This school is on of the best engineering schools in Alabama ( not a party school). Also, it's conviently located near MSFC and the Cummings Research Park. Also, the Space and Rocket Center is just across the road.

You're starting school already!?! Its not even mid-July last I checked. That was a short summer.

Anyway, best of luck Gemini, knock 'em dead.

Yeah, have fun, Gemini. Learning about something you love is a great experience.

And see what you can do about getting us back to the moon, will ya?

Actually, the orientation is tomorrow, I don't start classes until mid-August. Thanks though!

I tried to come up with something witty involving paper + engineering + rockets (given your awesome models), maybe tying in that thread about whether a paper-airplane released from a shuttle would survive re-entry; but failed.

So instead a simple "best wishes". I'm sure you'll do fine.

Wow! Not even a freshman, yet, and you're picking out career tracks... When I began, all I knew is that I wanted to study engineering and fly airplanes.

I'm back! So far my class load looks all right. My classes are from Wednesday to Friday and I'm taking Precal Algebra/trig, British Lit, Psychology, and an introductory CAD class. I'll be up in Huntsville again Saturday the 18 for both the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing and my birthday.

Oh, sure, it looks like a strong school for astronautics, but any place that would have me as a graduate faculty affiliate has got to have serious room for improvement.

I'll say. Any school that hires faculty who attend Dragon*Con can't be a serious institute of learning!

If you go to work for the (US) Army, remember it's "Hooah!", not "Uah!".
