For starters, what, pray tell, did Martinez accomplish to earn the "2009 Veteran Leadership Award"?

The vid seems more a momento for those who attended the event, and/or a recruiting tool for the sponsoring organization.

Well, I can say for starters he endured about 40 surgeries/skin graphs and now is working as an actor on ABC's All My Children.

And how do either of those things relate to leadership? It's quite possible that he is an outstanding leader, but neither of those things would offer any indication whether that's the case or not.

If you are able to watch him, watch him on ABC's AMC.
