There are times when I think that cosmologists are trying so hard to explain what they see, that they are forgetting that we don't see quite a bit.

It will have to wait until we can (technologically) make better observations but, I cannot help but think we are in for a few surprises.

Curvature of space :

Space-time compresses near a massive object. when an object is near this curved space there are shorter routes because of the curvature so objects move towards that direction. Note: Time also is compressed ( slow ) keeping the speed of light constant.

Now can this mearly be an illusion as seen from our 3d perspective? Could matter blur the dimensions in a way where we observe a multidimentional event in a partial way.

One is a property of an object, and the other is another object unrelated to the first object. You cannot ask why properties of objects cannot themselves be objects.
Why cant what we currently believe to be the expansion of the universe be caused by the curvature of space rather than new space being created.
