Sorry if this is in the wrong place or is a silly question but I do not have any astronomy minded friends and so I figured this is the best place to ask. I'm trying to get a new telescope (like my old one a mirror one) but unfortunatley i have little idea of what to look for, a specific goal i want is to be able to at least see Neptune, and aside from bigger is better with mirror telescopes I don't know what other features or even brands to look out for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I''m not someone who cares too much about telescopes myself, but I think it would help you to figure out what you want size wise as there a telescopes that are short but wide while others long but skinny. It might help you to do a google search for various things you do know like what is the smallest resolution telescope you can get that lets you see nepture...and whether that means clearly or barely...

Just about any working telescope will allow you to see Neptune. Please browse through the Astronomical Observing, Equipment and Accessories forum:
http://www.bautforum.com/astronomica...t-accessories/ There are dozens of similar questions to your own. You'll probably even find questions you didn't even know to ask. Take your time to research and enjoy your new scope. |
