Might be a bit premature - there are many compunds that kill cancer cells in vitro and mouse models but very few that survive additional testing or even make it to clinical trials and then even fewer that reach approval...

but one can hope.

Okay, it kills cancer cells, but does it also kill healthy cells? What is needed is preferential elimination, not blanket elimination.

If the compound works great as is, that's great from a medical standpoint if less economically advantageous for this team. But modifications may be required anyway to make it selectively appropriate, etc.
