This post is you asking me what I have against men. I responded with my feelings about men. You then asked me what I have against men, and what did I think about women. I clarified. You asked why we were talking about it. Do you understand now?

Yes, I understand that... but when I asked what you had against men, I was referring to previous posts... not asking you to explain it again.

What, the posts where I said I had nothing against men as a gender? I really don't get what you're saying, here. So far as I can see, this whole tangent is based on my suggestion that THY meant "men" instead of "me." If you can point to specific examples of how it's about anything else, I"m sure we'd love to hear it.

No, it had nothing to do with your statement... about "men" instead of "me"... in previous posts (pages 7-8) you seem (apparently not just to me) to think that men aren't sterotyped, but women are... so I asked what you had aganist men, nothing to do with your other post about a possible typo.

Oh, and not that it matters too much, but if he/she could clarify things about their gender, it would help us not get caught up in this confusion.

Lastly, I really don't want to waste my or your time with this pointless discussion, I went back and read my posts, and I can see how you thought what you do... sorry about that I was pretty tried when I posted and didn't double check before posting... but the important thing is, I didn't mean for it to come across the way it appears to have...

You should also be aware that the expression of your avatar's face can have an impact on the perceived emotional content of what you write in ways you probably didn't intend.

The expression? The fact that it's Rodney McKay gives all his posts a certain tint, and probably still would if McKay was smiling.

It was said earlier that males are the expendable gender.
Of course we are! That's the reason why, when loading lifeboats, the rule is "women and children first"!
To take it too the extremes (and put it crudely), if you have 1000 people stranded on an island and 999 of them are women, the race has at least a chance of surviving. But if 999 are men, they are doomed!

Funny, how many women ask me about mechanical problems, computer hardware issues etc...
When I offer to walk them through fixing it, they get resistant. I'm the MAN, so I should be the one to do the fixing...
Whenever they are far away and ask such and I start, they ask me to stop and wait til their Brother, Boyfriend, Husband etc is home or available so I can tell him.

My twin girls just enrolled in advanced (honors) algebra.

I think this is so cool. Whatever path they choose in life, mathematics will always help and never hurt them.

Now their school says they need $150.00 calculators that can do graphs.

I'll do whatever I can to further their education, but $150.00 calculators?

What up with that?

That puts a more balanced light on sex discrimination, doesn't it?

The women in steerage on the Titanic had a better survival rate than the men in first class.

I'm taking Pre-Calculus (honors :P) and we have to have "$150.00" calculators too, but they sure make things a heck of a lot easier

Of course it's basically meaningless on a planet with 6.5 billion people and a global civilization though. But the attitude is so ingrained in us by evolution that people can't help but think that men are expendable.

I'd much rather be expendable than to place my wife (Assuming I could trick some poor woman into marrying me) or child in danger.

Not all TI calculators are crap. Don't get the 84 though - the TI-89 is the way to go for a graphing calc.

It's amusing that the HP / TI calculator debate goes all the way back to the '70s. One of the old issues was the HP RPN evaluation issue, though I think I read the recent models can do infix. I haven't needed a fancy calculator for a while. I have older HPs and TIs, but haven't used them for much of anything for some time. I'm a little sad about that.

Even more ironic is that I can't stand HP computer products anymore- especially not any kind of 'all in one'.
My HP48GS broked...

So I've just been using my older HP28S.

I'm not sure about the 70's debates, my issue with T.I. is that I don't like their design, functionality or programming.

My TI-85 still worked last year, and I'd had it for over 10 years, since sometime in high school. The only reason it doesn't work now is because a metal tab broke off in the battery compartment. I've really got to get to radioshack and jury-rig a fix to that.

Have you tried an 89? The 82/83/84 is horrendous IMO, but the 89 is a completely different interface and has completely different capabilities. It is my graphing calculator of choice right now.
