Default Does Anybody Remember...

Does anybody remember a comic strip from the 1960's & 70's called "Rick O'Shay". It was about the old west and the town sherif was Rick O'Say. The gun slinger was Hipshot Percussion. They had discussions about stars and the night sky fairly often.

I've been trying to proove to a friend that it existed but can't find a web site. If any o y'all have long memories and good search techniques, I'd really appreciate a link or two. Thanks in advance.

I remember it very well - it used to run in a few weekly comic mags in Sweden. Fantomen (The Phantom) and Magnum if I remember correctly.

not only did it exist (the title to the one strip of it I've seen is "Rick O'Shay and Hipshot"), it was penned by Chuck Jones's second wife, Marian. in his autobiography, Chuck Amuck, which I highly recommend to everyone, he includes his birthday present from one year of the strip's existence. Rick O'Shay (I can only assume) is watching a typical desert scene, including wildlife, and thinks to himself, "that crazy coyote ain't never gonna catch that ol' roadrunner" just as he enters the Acme Saloon, C. Jones, proprietor.

Never heard if it, but Google turned up some websites (the best one mentioned above) and a book.

Thanks guys! I googled and yahooed and got diddly squat. You did it and got good stuff.

I didn't realize that the strip had gone out of business. I'd have sworn that I was reading it some time in the 90's but that must just be PTSD flashbacks. 8)

Thanks again me amigos.
