Default I'll be on Penn and Teller's show May 9

Folks-

I will be interviewed on Penn and Teller's show (the name of which shall not be written here) on Showtime Monday night (5/09/05 11:00 PM Eastern US time). I have not seen the episode yet, but it's about conspiracies, including the Moon Hoax. I've been told one of the leading Moon Hoax twinkies, Ralph Rene, makes quite the spectacle of himself (from past experience, this does not surprise me).

It will be replayed several times:
5/10/05 9:00 PM, Showtime 2
5/13/05 10:00 PM, Showtime
(all times ET/PT)

Thanks to Wolverine for reminding me.

Its a great show, except for the end of last year, where something like 4 strait episodes were politically motivated.

I took the liberty of inviting the GLPers to watch as well. Maybe some of them aren't too far gone.

Oh this is great news. Penn and Teller should have a blast with this as we all do.

*sigh* ... non-Showtime subscriber checking in here.

Guess I'll just have to wait for the Complete Third Season DVD collection to see this episode.

If Showtime follows along as they have done in the last two weeks, I'll get home about noonish today and be able to watch it on Icontrol showtime. As with last year, shows like Dead Like me, Penn and Tellers and Fat Actress are over their season far too quick. Seven shows and we're already to 3?

Where do the time go?

8) Coooool. =D>

I was wondering when the Penn and Teller show with the rude name would do an episode on the Moon Hoax. I'll be sure to watch it.

Didn't see this thread until now.

Note: tonight's episode begins at 10:00PM (Eastern & Pacific) and will be repeated at 11:00 PM. No need to wait the extra hour.

I'm really looking forward to this entire episode, and for topics such as this, wish they had more than a half hour to work with.

Here in the US, it's carried on the Showtime network, which is a premium (subscription) movie channel. Unless that's available down under, You'll probably have to wait for Season 3 to be released on DVD. The website for the show itself (hosted on Showtime's site) isn't even viewable outside the US (and I'm not sure why...).

Great episode!!!

And damn, P&T were harsh on the conspiracy nuts.

BA,.. now that it's been aired I wanted to know what it was like working on the show. You got about five minutes of air time, but were they talking to you for hours?

I liked your attitude. I got the impression, while keeping your explanations scientific and respectful, it seemed as if you wanted to scream while laughing, "What are they? Idiots?"

Very funny and very well done. KUDOS!!!

I won't get to see it for a couple of days. My boss TiVo'd it for me.

In a coincidence, Bravo showed the West Wing episode about standing eggs on end just now. 8)

Well I was busy but I turned it on real quick and saw our Phil's mug so I guess I got it taped ok. I'll have to open a few beers and watch it when I get home.

It was a good show but Phil wasn't nearly as funny as some of the kooks.

And yes, he can stand still for a very, very long time.

I am tired of people who are 'Authors'. If you write, edit, print, bind and sell an article You are not an Author. If you write a book, submit it to a publishing house, they work with you to edit it, they produce it, they market it and they pay you, you be an author.

That Renne guy, or the wack job with the car and the chicken hawk helmet, man, like Penn and Teller said, if you see anyone carrying this book, push them down a flight of stairs!

Here's a picture of our intrepid main man doing what Penn found somewhat extraordinary: standing still for a long time.

Then again maybe he was trying to out silence Teller!

I can identify with Penn & Teller's attitude toward the hoaxers. One tends to cop an attitude and sound that way when one is feeling such things as exasperation and disgust.

Great show! Good job, Phil! BTW, the berets were a really nice touch...that's probably what the folks in Area 51 wore while doing the filming.

As Penn said, re conspiracy "hypothesizers", it's all "fertilizer". =D>

Well, I'll be looking forward to the 3rd season coming out on DVD, eventually. Amazon.ca seems to have the first two seasons on its radar, so when they're finally available in Canada, I'll grab 'em and head for the hills.

Best. Episode. Of. PTBS. Ever.

I tuned in just as the Moon Hoax part was starting. Very well-done, but the part of the episode that really blew my mind was the debunking of the JFK assassination conpiracy. Wow! =D>

Apparently, there was some debunking of 9/11 conspiracies that I missed. Could someone summarize that part for me?

Not without using language that would get me banned. You know how Penn Gillette talks.

Basically they just said "anyone who believes our government took part in 9/11 is a 'whack-job'".

I found the episode quite enjoyable, particularly the "lunar set" bit. Penn had me rolling with laughter. Wish they could have gone into more detail all the way around, but am always pleasantly surprised by how much they cram into thirty minutes. Nice work Phil.

Any word on if Penn and Teller plan to tackle the .999...=1 problem?

That episode was a lot of fun. Phil looked pretty frozen by the camera the first few minutes.

I must say I am looking forward to Phil's review of Episode III.
