Does that mean, that the series I have on DVD is the only series!

Yep. Fox has the sole television production rights to the Firefly intellectual property and they have steadfastly refused to sell them back to their creator or to another network willing to continue the show. They have also said that Firefly will not return to Fox in any way shape or form (though we'll have to see if the tune on that one changes if the movie does extremely well).

Lst week I was sorta laid up with back injury and I spent two days having my own private Fireflyfest, not a bad way to "suffer". I agree that it's a bummer that there are no more episodes to come. Let's just hope the movie is even close to as good as the series was.

You mean now I'll have two hours of TV on my DVR on Friday nights.

I'll never get to bed.

If the movie does well, they get to make two more movies. The contract states that FOX cannot put on a T.V. show if the movie does well enough to enact the sequels.

IF there are sequels, then it can't go on T.V. until 1 year after the last movie.

The actors will likely have moved on by then.

Now, I've seen the movie twice now in an un-finished 'early' preview state. If you like Sci-Fi, then you should really like the movie. Even if you weren't completely keen on the series.

At least one of the actors, "Jain", has already landed a semi-major part in a new crime series. I don't recall the name of it offhand. It is a bit creepy.

I know he was a recurring character in Stargate SG-1, and had a bit role on JAG...

I like that actor.

We talking about Adam Baldwin? (no relation to the Baldwins) I dig his characters too, and he probably got the best lines in Firefly. Though personally, I'll always remember him from The Cape. (Anyone else remember that Post-Apollo-13-attempt-to-cash-in-on-NASA-realism? 8) )

Is that the one about the shuttle crew? Different mission every week? I used to watch it all the time when I was ten years old!

Jain and his lines

After shooting the bad guy in the head Mal says,"nice shot."

A drugged Jain, "I was aiming for his head."
