Charlie Jade
Any other Canadians on the board watching this show? I caught the recap episode on Space last night and I can see me tuning in to/taping the final four episodes. I stopped watching awhile ago, as I fell asleep during the first episode, missed others and was completely clueless as to what was going on. Apparently, this recap episode will air again at 7pm Saturday night, followed by episode 17. If/when season 1 comes out on dvd, I'll definately have to rent it.
For others on this board, I'll just add that Charlie Jade aired on Space (Canada's SF channel) in BSG's slot, after it's first season concluded. This show is earth based and a cross between detective/SF, taking place in 3 parallel universes, in a noir sort of way. It is a Canadian/S. African joint production and currently being aired only in these 2 countries. Hopefully, it will be picked up elsewhere. Show info here and here.

Ok, this may be a bump of sorts. The final episode of season 1, aired on Space last night. Wow!!! I've heard the term "intelligent show" applied to a few shows in the past year, CJ tops them all (IMO). I really do hope there is a season 2. From my understanding, they have the go ahead for writing, funding is the question mark. If it doesn't happen, then CJ definately falls into the "tv too good for tv" category.
For those in Canada and I'll assume for those living in the US (close to the border), Charlie Jade will be aired by City-Tv on their A-Channel stations (formerly New...) starting Sept 3 at 10 pm, ASN in the Maritimes starting Sept 15 at 8 pm local time. I highly recommend this show, I'll be taping it to get all the episodes I missed in Space's first run of the series. In a way, I do recommend taping episodes as it is easy to miss some things while watching. The series does start off slow, but once it hits its stride, it really takes off. Of the three universes in the show, Alphaverse has a Blade Runner look/feel to it, Betaverse is the present " a half hour from now" and Gammaverse is basically an idyllic setting. The choices of taping in South Africa, an international cast and some artistic filming/editing, makes CJ a very different (in a good way), earth-based sci-fi noir show.
