Who is Neil deGrasse Tyson and why can't I get the Colbert report in Canada? We get the daily show but our comedy network shows Everybody Loves Raymond after that (as if it's not on TV enough already)....

I've never seen his show! Aargh

Neil deGrasse Tyson is an astrophysicist and current director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History. He does a lot of writing and TV appearances bringing science to the general public. He did a series for Nova last fall called Origins and he shows up occasionally on other TV programs. He also writes a monthly column for Natural History magazine.

I know, it's very frustrating that we don't get to see the Colbert Report here in Canada. I hope people are complaining to the Comedy Network. In fact, I'll do that right now. You do it too Peter.

The Colbert Report (pronounced col-BAIR re-pohr) is new, only a couple weeks old. Steve Colbert is a former "reporter" on The Daily Show.

The Tyson interview was funny. Steve had Neil literally banging his head on the table at one point. But with a smile on his face.

Among other things, Colbert took Tyson to task for making millions of children cry by demoting Pluto from planethood...

I thought Steven could have done a better job of asking why the Big Bang had to be so complicated, and that he preferred Intelligent Design. It didn't quite drip with parody and irony like it could have.

Picky, picky...

Though I'd agree that sometimes Steve does tend to be a bit TOO deadpan.

It would appear that CTV should have been the one to talk to as they own Comedy Network.

Fraser, it was obviously the email you (ahem) "suggested" I send that got this to happen....Ha!
