Default 'Night Sky' magazine to cease publication

I got my March/April copy of 'Night Sky' magazine today, with a sad announcement...it was the last one.
No, my subscription hadn't expired...'Night Sky' magazine has not been profitable, so the March/April issue is the last one.
I've been a subscriber since the inaugural issue, and I thoroughly enjoyed the magazine. Aimed as it was toward the beginner (and that is a perfect description yr obdt svt), everything from 'how to's to product reviews to celestial object articles and beyond were perfect for the entry level observer.
I don't really understand why it wasn't more popular, at least to the point of break-even. The other magazines are excellent publications, but they're aimed more toward the (more) experienced observer. 'Night Sky' was perfect for the newbie who really didn't understand the difference between a reflector and a refractor. The stuff that our own BA wrote for the magazine was especially good, with just the right humorous touch to get the point across without scaring someone off.

It's up to us to answer the beginners' questions...a darn shame, we've got one less tool to use in that quest to pass on the knowledge of the stars...I'll miss 'Night Sky'.
