Default Funny Astronomy/Physics on Letterman

I wonder if this is a friend of yours BA?

Letterman had a Dr. Robert Nichols on tonight to talk about last week's dark energy science stories. The set-up was that Dave is afraid the universe will be torn apart.

Dr. Nichols was quite funny. In fact, my wife made a comment to the effect of, "A funny scientist... who'd have thought." Maybe it's just me but I've find most scientist have a great sense of humor, BA definitely in that category.

Anyway, it was a great segment. Did anyone else catch it?

I saw the interview. Dr. Nichols seems to have the ability to explain his findings in an easy to understand way. I have always liked the fact that Letterman in interested in science. It was funny to watch him last week go on and on about the NYT article stating the universe was splitting apart. (which we find out isn't what the Dr. was describing at all!)

I was told this would be on by an astronomer friend of mine. I will tape it; Letterman is on a bit late for me these days (I am behind on sleep due to the teelscope+CCD at our observatory finally coming online!).

He's like a combo of Dr. Plait 8) and Tim Roth. It was a good show.
