If you read the spoilers, you'll learn a bit about that. Or maybe not. Ron D. said he's been putting out purposeful disinformation to muddy the water. And then, having just admitted he's a liar, he might be lying about that as well.

The seven humanoid cylons are indeed "new", something created this go around. However, the Final Five are a different story. Human vs cylon has been going on over and over again. And just what "cylon" is each time around, well that is something else to ponder......

Well, I was thinking that the humans aboard BSG defeat the cylons, completely whipping them out, and then settle on some planet, call it X. Given the small number of survivors and the difficulty of life in those circumstances, they regress technologically for a millennium or two. A very tiny number of survivors (perhaps only five) continue on to Earth and are never heard from again. 1000 years later, the humans on planet X colonize 11 other planets and have this great idea to "invent" an AI to serve them.

wash, rinse, repeat.
