Haven't seen much of this series but I'm surprised this show is going to survive. I thought the writers strike was going to kill everything (it even got the golden globes canceled)

After a very strong protest from the hardcore fans, the network decided to restart production on Jericho as a mid-season replacement. That meant they were making episodes before the strike and have them available. However, I think it's only 5 or 6.

The same is happening to Lost, btw... six episodes and out.

24 has some eps ready, but they decided not to air them since the series hangs on a completed arc which they can't complete.

Downloaded it from iTunes, they had it as a freebie. Finished watching it, then immediately bought the entire first season and watched them all between Sunday and Monday night.

Un-freakin'-believable. I kicked myself squarely in the gonads for ignoring this one on its first run.

It's taken a neat little plot twist with lots of promise. Let's hope CBS gives it a chance.

And, of course, the future of the nation hinges on Texas. When has it not?

Last ep's end had me giggling. C'mon, you just knew that was coming, right?

Was hoping to avoid making this a spoiler thread, but yes. Nice to see D.B. Sweeney back. Should be amusing.

I notice that they are sayin "season finale" when mentioning upcoming episodes....does this suggest a season 3???

there are two endings for the finale being filmed. One is a wrap up series finale. The other dovetails to season three.

Let's hope for Season 3, but - realistically - the ratings have dropped. Of course, CBS has no share of the responsibility for that, right?

As for the shoot-out in the most recent episode, why do they do that to characters I like?

I guess it was to show just how bad Ravenwood is and why there will be war between the town and the company soon. Sorry to lose that character but perhaps there wasn't much room for her in the future story line.

Bonnie didn't really have a lot going on to justify her presence this season, now she's a cassus belli for her brother.

I'm getting into this show

I like the story, really interesting, its got some good actors and I like what I've seen so.

There are plenty of minor mistakes in the series though
there was an episode where the guys get rammed off the road as Jake is hanging out the window, I find it hard to believe he wasn't crushed to death by the overturned truck. Then there was an episode where the Chinese are coming delivering cargo supported by Migs but the aircraft is clearly not a Mig some kind of Delta wing like Mirage2000, also I found it hard to believe the entire US military was taken out by terrorist EMPs. >> and doesn't the US have thousands of troops in overseas bases !?
Anyhow its a series so you kind have to go with this suspension of disbelief thing.
It's just the series does some of the other stuff so well, then its minor mistakes really stand out.

Yeah I'm glad they didn't go with the cliche about the good guy being talked out of shooting the bad guy. And then Dangling the bad guys body in front of New Bern was a cool testimonial of old west style justice.

I get the feeling that's going to be a minor footnote in the series finale in a couple weeks.

FYI, if anybody wants to watch old episodes, CBS has streams of the full eps on the website:

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/jericho/video/

Just started the series myself (seen first 3 eps), looks pretty good so far.

"The last time I blew the whistle, I wiped 23 cities off the map." Great line. Shock and giggles out of me on that one.
