Default UFO Hunters, on whatever channel it's on

I don't know, they seemed to fill an hour of time with five minutes of content. They found a rock they didn't recognize, pieces of an old B25 and made thermite. Did anyone else see this bit of tripe?

I saw bits and pieces. And, I don't agree with you, because I actually like tripe soup

Why would an expert in ground radar not expect the conditions to be bad? Oh yeah, so they could film something.

They were amazed that the pieces of wreckage were actually pieces of a plane.

I watched a taped "Universe" yesterday, and every commercial break was advertising that stupid show.

I didn't like the ep I saw. This involved the UFO that dropped hot slag on a fishing boat, and then crashed somewhere in the woods.

The 'investigative' team came with up some truly remarkable and ludicrous conclusions based on some seriously haphazard detective work.

I was with them until they started collecting rocks from the 'hot slag drop' site. The diver picked up a shiny black rock and said 'Oh, that looks metallic. So this must be from the UFO'

What? It's a rock, man!

At least get it tested before you start assuming it's from a Xandravian scout ship!

And then it was downhill from there. Some guy with a blowtorch starts talking about how the slag had a strong magnetic field that could've interfered with the B-25's electronics during transport. Well, maybe it could. But how do you explain WHITE HOT SLAG being loaded aboard an aircraft, and starting a fire?

That's ridiculous!

The plane caught fire and crashed. Period. There's no more data upon which to base any theory involving ETs. Cold slag isn't white hot, and wouldn't burn up the plane. And there's no reason for cold slag to suddenly reignite and torch the plane. If the magnetic field was screwing with the on-board systems, they would've left it on the ground. NOT load it aboard a plane. The military had radios RADAR, and vehicles, all of which would have been effected if the magnetic field was that pervasive.

It's just plain hokey! Even basic knowledge of science would have dismissed their conclusions.

Oi Veh!! this was a really annoying episode of non-sequiturs, and total lack of simple information about the B 25 Mitchell Bomber.....for one thing, it did not have swept wings and jet engines, like they showed in the intro, that was a Tupolev Badger.....If they can't get that right, then what else are they messing up??

Abba-don2008 has it exactly correct, when they got in the plane and found the mag compass inop, they would have shipped it by rail. The B 25 had some problems with engine fires, and other annoying faults, so they crashed a lot, especially war weary worn out aircraft in 1947.....IIRC, this incident has been thoroughly investigated before, and some of the actual supposed UFO Slag was tested in the past and found to be, well, SLAG....what a surprise!!

Some of the statements made about the crew members and what their duties were, and similar information was totally twisted, and typical of true believers...

Now you're just being silly. Everyone knows that Xandravian scout ships are made using nanocrystalline carbon fiber, not metal!

But that's my point! Xandravians are way beyond naturally-occurring metal alloys! Next thing you know, somebody will find a rusty mattress spring, and think it's a quantum field induction coil...p-lease!

They used the Badger clip at least twice during the show. It looks NOTHING like a B-25.
B-25 Tu-16 Badger

If they'd accidentally picked a clip of a British Halifax bomber, and mistook it for a B-24, I'd have cut them some slack.

Halifax B-24

But the Badger? Not even Ray Charles would have made that mistake.

I watched the Sc-Fi Channel's pilot of their "UFO Hunters." Nice team. They go in to debunk, sift thru the evidence. I thought they did a good job.

Haven't seen the other show however . . . .

Its the same script as the Sci-Fi channels "Ghost Hunters" (where they go into rooms and go "wow can you feel that!")

Great journalism, if you get your news from the National Enquirer.....

Next it will be "Nessie Hunters" ---- "look a ripple in the water, it must be Nessie!"
Or "Parallel Universe Hunters" ----- "I could SWEAR I just felt a wormhole!"

.... looks like they went through college film courses watching "Blair Witch Project" and said "WE CAN DO THAT!"

Which channel is "UFO Hunters" on?

Depends.

American Chronicle: The Premier of 'UFO Hunters' -- Both of Them!

Quote:
[...] we have been graced with not one new addition to the airwaves, but two additions [...] Now if that wasn´t enough, they both have the same names, i.e., "UFO Hunters!"
Please clarify which one is the subject of your comments.

For instance:
Sci-Fi Channel's "UFO Hunters" is boring and stupid.
or
History Channel's "UFO Hunters" is stupid and boring.

Too late. Monster quest on THC.

I'm worried that Universe is heading down that path. The SETI episode wasn't too bad, but it seems like they are starting to run out of ideas.

I meant that The Universe and UFO Hunters are opposite ends of the creative spectrum.

Here is the the description from Entertainment Weekly for UFO Hunters on the History channel.

"Same general idea as Ghost Hunters, but more suited to an audience put off by that show's occasional offers of proof."

SFC's show did a good amount of debunking in its first case; the second one was very interesting. Did you actually see it?

Something like 'MonsterQuest' would be better if it had Mike Rowe from 'Dirty Jobs'.

His sense of humor would be RIOTOUS in these remote locations, in search of strange creatures.

Now there's a show I'd watch! How about "Spooky Jobs" as a title?
