Depends how old you are. It is for me. I was a kid when I watched MacGyver.

Well I will be the one to praise the music of
The Prisoner. Ron Grainer did the main theme
but it had very carefully chosen items
throughout the series. The last episode had
something called September Song which was very
evocative of end of term, stressful time over!

Many great films of the last 60 years were
blessed with great music or had memorable
tunes like the Green Leaves of Summer from
the Alamo. Films like Cleopatra and Ben Hur.
Hitchcock was lucky many times.

Fireball XL5 had a catchy tune by Holliday that
entered the charts. The Dutch Robinson Crusoe
series of the sixties used a theme over and
over and got away with it, it was good.

Coming back to Ron Grainer, he did a theme for
a film called the Trap, I think. It is very
stirring and was used many times by the BBC
when covering Marathons. But for a time I
thought it was taken from the last movement of
Handels Messiah. I have a superb video by
Neville Mariner that has it. Does anyone
confirm they are similar. I do not want to
suggest plaguerism!

Yes yes yes yes YES to the entire paragraph! I meant to mention Priz but didn't think of it until after I'd posted.

I walked out of a job (with a better one to go to) shortly after seeing the series all the way through for the first time. That September Song was the soundtrack to my life that day.

Even just READING this is overwhelming me with nostalgia.

Even though I am unfamiliar with the series, the UFO theme has a grooovy beat.
