Crap, two weeks! I can't stand it. Is Natalie dead? And from the previews, is CapSix actually.........................pregrant with T_gh's baby?! (or did Doc Cottle just discover "essence of T_gh" in CapSix)<shriek!>

I loved T_gh, "blow 'em the frak up" -- "just one more in the airlock".

And Roslin certainly cleaned Little Miss Tory's clock, didn't she?

I keep forgetting that the show is on Fridays until I get to this thread and read spoilers.

And now a two week wait? Maybe I'll save this episode to watch in a few days.

Long time lurker here, but just had to make a post about this season. What a change from the plodding pace of the previous season. The last few episodes have left me slack-jawed when the credits appeared.

Keep up the excellent analyis of this excellent show. I will be a little bit sad when it finally does come to an end. I am trying to get my girlfriend to start watching from the beginning, but so far we only made it 3/4 through the pilot. Got a long way to go!

Take care,
Mike

"Jump!"

I have to admit that I didn't see it coming, but probably should have.

Sheesh, my cable box recorded a black screen. Man, I hate that thing but I think it hates me too. Fortunately I'm not so trusting as to not have a VCR set up to tape it too. Hopefully that worked. Nothing like 80s technology to help out those of us stuck in the 21st century.

And make you laugh at the same time. I nearly fell off the couch when Madame Airlock said "Shut up!" to Baltar when he said "Let God's will be done" as they were about to plug the hybrid in. And talk about "Plug N' Play"! Plug that hybrid's USB cable into the basestar's port, and look out. "Plug it in" wasn't one of dear Madame Airlock's wisest moves, there. But it's all part of the Plan, of course.

Some are now calling her Laura "MF" Roslin to go with Saul MF T_gh after she just shred Tory to pieces and without raising her voice -- this is a family forum, so we won't elaborate on the meaning of "MF".

Now, I'm trying to get it straight who all of our heroes are onboard the absconded basestar with Roslin. There's Baltar and Helo, but who else? Was Starbuck onboard as well? We know Natalie and Sharon were on Galactica. And that doesn't make any sense come to think of it. Why didn't Roslin take at least Sharon, if not CapSix as well with her to see the hybrid. Why only Baltar?

Most of the characters here, Starbuck, Baltar, Chief, etc have been taking bat-manure crazy to new heights. What was ex-Chief doing, playing with some *toy* as he sat on the floor? "At least we'll know who the fifth is." And Katee Sackoff is getting that "about to run screaming" look down pat.

But I'll tell you. All that crazy will be nothing compared to what PopAdama does when he learns Roslin just got shanghaied aboard Natalie's basestar. He's been a rock, but I guarantee you, when he goes crazy, it's going to put all the crazy we've seen so far to shame.

And T_gh and CapSix. If CapSix is pregnant with his kid (and what kind of crazy Seven-Five "hybrid" will that be), that is going to be the most frakked up kid in the whole Galaxy. He will also be the meanest, baddest as well.

That will be some more, as the TWOP folks call it, "Crazy Six Baby Math".

Baltar, Helo, and half of Galactica's fighter wing are on the rebel base star. Starbuck wasn't shown to be with them.

I thought last Friday's episode was very well done. The only part that I didn't really like was the senseless shooting of Natalie by Sharon. I thought that this was done for dramatic reasons and was not really needed to carry the story forward; kind of similar to the shooting of Geata's leg. Natalie was actually coming around and trying to make some sort of peace with the humans. She even argued with the other Cylons about coming clean with the humans. While Sharon may have been half crazy after seeing the pictures that Hera made, she should have a least held her emotions in check, after seeing that her kid was ok and not in any danger. After all, Natalie was the Cylon leader that Adama and Roslin were working with and killiing her, would not do anything to help the negotiations that were going on. I wonder if Adama will blame Sharon, at least at first, for the baseship jumping away.

Actually, shooting Gaeta's leg was brilliant. Now that he's going to have a peg leg, he and SMF T_gh, with the eye patch, can be, you guessed it, pirates! Space pirates.

I guarantee you T_gh could do a mean, "Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" Now Gaeta wouldn't be too menacing, so he'd have to be the idiot first mate (sort of like Gilligan to T_gh's Skipper) that provides comic relief.

Gaeta getting shot in the leg is needed to carry the story forward. Felix has been an integral part of the story in this very way since the beginning of last season. And then there's his song. He's part of it somehow, we're just not sure how yet.

As for Sharon shooting Natalie, I didn't expect it to happen. (Not until Hera was safe and it was obvious, anyway.) I don't know what that has to do with the story, but nothing this season happens for no reason.

I think Geata is going to be the human version of a hybrid and also the 5th cylon. Hopefully the Gaeta uplugged will not go on too much longer because I'm already ready to smother him with a pillow. I've already heard him sing longer than 99.9% of the singers out there and I can't say that I liked it.

Frankly this episode didn't make a lot of sense to me. Gaeta's singing made my brain ache. I liked him until this episode. Now the sooner he dies the better. Now I know what it was like to be one of the other four before they fully activated. shutupshutupshutup

Yeah, I know. Too obvious.

Gaeta's leg and his singing was one of the best parts of the episode.
And now we just need someone with a hook hand to have all the basic pirate prosthetics.

I wasn't exactly enamored with his singing either, and we're apparently in a minority. From comments on the BSG boards, the vast majority loved it. But I've never been too big of Gaeta fan myself. He (along with Dee) has been on of the cylon suspects from the very beginning, but I don't think he'll be the Final Fifth, though.

Alessandro Juliani, the actor who plays Gaeta, actually has a Bachelor's of Music degree in Vocal Opera Performance and did a lot of singing gigs before he landed the BSG role. From what I read, he's supposed to be pretty good. RDM and company just decided to make use of that talent.

I'm not knocking his singing talent, just found annoying in context. And I couldn't understand why Cottle put up with it. It would be very much in his character to make some snarky remark and shoot Gaeta up with "morpha" to shut him up.

Anyway, RDM comes up with these bright ideas when he's hammered. And this is not a joke (if you listen to his podcasts, you'll here ice clinking in a glass. That ain't milk he's drinking by a long shot, but something over 100 proof. How's he cogent after an hour, I don't know. Well, someone might debate that). Apparently one night he got drunk and told the music guy he wanted Gaeta to sing an opera and to come up with something for him to sing. This was the result.

I ain't complaining mind you. Keep feeding him the sauce as he does pretty good with it overall.

Really? Even as it went on, and on, and on? It was fine for a bit, to set things up, but enough was enough.

That brings up a point. I suppose they've done a better job than some shows in pointing out supply shortages, but where are they getting all these medical supplies?

I didn't think it was wonderful singing or anything (although he wasn't horrible) - what was wonderful about it was using this to convey Gaeta's pain and sense of loss rather than just having him sit there or through dialogue.
And as long as the other patients don't complain, go ahead and let him sing. The guy just lost his leg when a fellow officer shot him, and he wasn't doing anything threatening at the time. He has reason to sing a bit.

As for where the medical supplies are coming from - Galactica and Pegasus may have had large stores to begin with, or Ragnar Anchorage, and they may have the ability to manufacture more (maybe there's a pharmacy ship in the fleet - designed to take advantage of microgravity environments in the manufacture of drugs and other supplies).

Yep, most of the posters I read seemed to love and go on about it. Now there were a few in our camp who didn't like it but they were indeed few.

As Jason suggested, maybe they've got a big Pharm ship in the fleet. Another thing along these lines is why did the Galactica, a warship (which was a soon to be retired warship) have a large supply of chemotherapy drugs onboard? That space could be used for medical supplies a lot more useful for war fighting, of course.

We'll just have to invoke the Pharmship for that as well. Give Ron D enough good scotch and maybe he'll come up with something good to 'splain it all.
