is this the same one that was posted a couple of weeks ago by someone else that wound up with him going after our binary friend- with me getting stuck in the middle?

This is the official one, and is even posted up by CERN's own YouTube channel

Yep, almost a month ago, topic LHC Rap. That was... interesting. By the way, thanks for the defense. I selfishly used you like a shield. That was one new member that didn't appear to come here for the fun.

Wow, I still can't fathom how someone could be triggered into a seeming fury by the comment:

I remain so fascinated by that experience that I've just got to repeat it here and see how Sticks reacts.

It's long, 100+ lines.

Hear me? Hey, all lovers of "The LHC Rap", it's long! 100+ lines! There. I said it again.

Anyone else offended? Is that not factual? Doesn't that succinctly describe an important aspect of the work, giving people more knowledge of the experience that is being recommended? How can someone think that providing a brief excerpt and noting the piece's duration makes for pointless commentary?

Am I demeaning the effort to call it long, or does that in some way insult the person who recommended it?

The Beatles' "Hey Jude" was long. McLean's "American Pie" was long. "LHC Rap" is long.

And, "LHC Rap" is neither quite as long nor quite as good as the first two works. Right?

I'm not offended, that is just a statement of fact. I understand she wrote it while she was commuting to work at CERN

Maybe a moderator could kindly merge these two threads. My apologies for not using the search.

novaderrik, I miss understood what you meant, I thought you were refering to another video

It's a good song. I know I said that on the other thread, but it is.

i, too, sometimes think of that thread and wonder how it went the way it did.. but i thought it was fun, and don't mind being used as a shield every once in a while- it''s not like i contribute much in the way of intellect around these parts, so if i can serve as a human shield ,then i feel like my time here is worthwhile.
and to Sticks- if the threads get merged, it will be one confusing mess.. separately, they kind of compliment each other. this way, we can have a whole thread with only a couple of passing mentions of the new guy looking to pick a cyber fight..

Yeah, no merge. This thread is fun. A merger would be water and oil. Or salad dressing.

The LHC did first beam. Rapping!

And rapping... and rapping... and rapping...

Not a rap, but I did make up an LHC song that I posted on most of the related threads.

I have tried to refer people to this rap to try and enlighten them about particle physics.

Does anyone think this is a good summary for the non scientific person?

I am not big fan of the 'rap music', it is good for educational, yet light hearted things like this because the voices are relatively clear, compared to if say, you tried to do it in opera.
