Default Star Wars Question.

I need to ask, was the Emperor ever implicated in Anikin's Mother's abduction by the sandpeople?

it wasn't explicitly laid out in the movies, but i always kind of got the feeling that he was controlling things via the dark side and thru his connections from the beginning to fulfill the prophecy- including Anakin's "miracle birth" and the circumstances that brought Qui Gon and Obi Won to his planet to find him.
his mother getting abducted like that at such a critical time in Anakin's development just seems like a pretty convenient coincidence.

So, from a ceraitn point of view ( ), Palpatine was Anikin's father, and thus Lukes grandfather... 8o

The Ultimate Visual Guide says that he preformed Sith rituals "to influence the tide of galactic events.", so he may have guided them to do it through the Force, something rather hard to prove in a legal sense.

Ah, but we're not experts in Galactic Republic or Imperial laws here! Who knows, that could be how they got the Jedi-- pulled them in on charges of felony Force Abuse.

they "got" the Jedi by having the clone troops execute a secret order from the newly crowned Emperor to take out any Jedi that were with them and by having the newly named "Darth Vader" take out the future Jedi at the temple.

Yes, it was a joke.

I though Anekin's birth was the will of the force, sort of like the virgin Mary. Doesn't she say to Rob Roy there was no father he was just born.

Yes, he was conceived by the microorganisms that make a person Force-sensitive.

when did it ever say that? it never actually says what the mitachllroiothingamajiggers in the blood do. it just says that they indicate that the person is "in tune" with the force. i still say that Palpatine (Darth Sidius) manipulated events starting a long, long time before ep 1- one of the things he did was "create" the ultimate Sith warrior by creating Anakin Skywalker somehow- maybe with the assistance of the beings on Camino that created the clone army. this could mean that Anakin is somehow related to Boba Fett..

I heard the description in a sourcebook, but according to Wookiepedia:
Quote:
It was the theory of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn that the will of the Force caused his birth. There is evidence to suggest that Anakin's birth may have been engineered by the Sith Lord Darth Plagueis as part of an experiment in immortality.

Darth Plagueis, seriously?

Why not just call him Darth Badguy?

Most Sith names are derived from unpleasant words.

Vader (invader), Maul, Ramage (rampage), Sidious (insidious), etc...

I thought Vader was a Dutch word meaning 'father'. Darth Vader meaning 'dark father'.

You're right though, that phenomena does seem to be the case. Just looked it up and found Darth Nihilus. Those nihilists just can't get a break, can they?

Then the v should have been pronounced as an f.

It isn't an especially tight fit, but I do like the "Dark Father" interpretation, particularly the way Palpatine grants it to Anakin: as a sick taunt in his continuing campaign to break Anakin through manipulation and emotional abuse.

Maybe it was a dig at Nilius, the Russian Orthodox Monk who wrote the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion"
