It doesn't make any difference to me what creationists believe as long as they don't attempt to pass off their religious beliefs as science. Further, when they do so in the context of government run schools, they are attempting to promote their particular beliefs, which runs into U.S. Constitutional issues.

Then I'm sure you'll agree that religion should not be taught in the science classroom.

but I can never see why the likes of Richard Dawkins get so hot under the collar just knowing that the world is full of people who believe in god.
What does this comment have to do with a discussion about teaching science in the science classroom?

Nothing, as long as they keep their ignorance to themselves. Unfortunately this is one thing that they just will not do. They insist on corrupting the education of the wider public by demanding that their curriculum be taught, their textbooks selected, and when they can't get their way on the textbooks by getting "disclaimer" stickers put in the textbooks. That is what "everyone is so bothered about". You should be too.

I, at times, wonder if anyone has really read the bible! The truth of the matter, if read one would find that the old testament is a story of a family linage that starts with Adam and ends with Jesus. God created Adam and then Eve and them alone. Adam, Noah, Abraham, Israel, Moses, King David and Jesus all the major characters throughout are related. As for all others they are of evolution. The final miracle of creation is that Jesus was born of a woman that was not only blessed but a virgin.

If Jesus was born of a virgin, then Joseph wasn't his father, and he was not of the line of David, and therefore, could not be the messiah.

This thread has departed from the astronomical aspect of answering creationists, and gone into the area of religion discussion that we have rules against.

This is an official warning for both Warren Platts and ogarza.

Also, I am closing the thread.
