Default Pluto Express: Current status?

I've been out of the loop for a while, and hadn't heard where the back and forth on the Pluto flyby mission had ended.

What's the last that was heard about it? Go, no go, going nowhere?

My former APL coworkers are still working hard on it.

Quite frankly I can't wait to see what Pluto looks like! All those pixelated pictures we saw before only make me more impatient. And there's still so many years to wait.

I've always had a soft spot for Pluto - I hope the mission really does happen!

I want to see some good pics of Pluto (and Charon) before I pass to the big observatory. Get on the ball, NASA dudes. Quit faking Mars rovers and fake me a good flyby of Pluto.
Maybe one day soon propulsion technology will make the trip faster than is possible tody and we won't have to wait 15 years or however long the trip takes now. If this falls through, I hope that's what happens anyway.
The other alternative is optics. A bigger space telescope might get some close ups sooner than a probe would get there. One or the other, do something.
