Just noticed Malin Space Science Systems has updated information on the camers for the MSL:

Bayer pattern, bayer pattern, bayer pattern! All I hear is bayer pattern! Aren't these supposed to be science cameras? Are they going to use multiple CCDs or what?

The specs for the MastCam shows that it has a filter wheel for multi-spectral analysis. Looks like they're using the same filter set as MER.
