Here's a list of space stuff that's going to be happening in late 2003/2004. It's going to be an incredible time:

2003

December 24 - Nozomi arrives at Mars
December 24 - Due date for our second baby.
December 25 - Mars Express arrives at Mars
December 30 - Deep Impact Launch

2004
Space shuttle probably returns to flight
X-Prize will probably be won
January 2 - Stardust arrives at Comet Wild 2
January 5 - Spirit lands on Mars
January 14 - SWIFT Launch
January 25 - Opportunity lands on Mars
February - Rosetta Launch
March 10 - Messenger launch to visit Mercury
June - Lunar A launches and arrives at the Moon
June 24 - Messenger flyby of Venus
July 1 - Cassini arrives at Saturn
September - Genesis returns to Earth

Let me know if I forgot anything.

Yea, no doubt about it Frazier, there are interesting times ahead. Just out of interest though, which of this list of events would you consider might be the most exiting – and why?

Thanks

Adrian

Many congratulations on the up and coming birth of your second child, and as this will undoubtedly top the list – I should have said – ‘what would be your second choice and why?’

I mentioned in another discussion that I'm most excited about Cassini. We've seen a lot of Mars, but all we've got for Saturn are a few shots from the Voyager probes and Hubble. And it's going to deposit a probe onto Titan to analyze what's beneath its thick atmosphere.

I can't wait!

Oh yeah, and the kid'll be cool too. ;-)

Saturn is by far my most favorite & How cool this will be!

Hey Fraser? Can I get personal here?

Does your wife share in your interest with space/astronomy and all associated with it?

Well, she doesn't have the same level of interest as me, but she enjoys tagging along when we do space stuff. So, it's not like she's against it.

Anyway, she has interests and hobbies all her own. :-)
