Is there anything called Anti-Matter. As there is positive and negative, good and bad every thing has two dimensions. So, a matter is something that has mass and occupies space, so, is there an anti-matter that does not have any mass and does not occupy space?

I think the term contra-terrene needs to be opened up to include other states of matter.
There is the so called dark matter (The book "Strings & Superstrings" does talk about a kind of shadow matter that only feels gravity--related perhaps) http://www.dogpile.com/info.dogpl/se.../-/-/-/417/top Robert Forward wrote about negative and positive matter. If you could tear them from normal space--you would get eternal propulsion as one pushed and the other pulled. http://www.dogpile.com/info.dogpl/se.../-/-/-/417/top Just plain anti-matter is ordinary matter with a different baryon spin that would cause it to explode worse than a nuke in contact with ordinary matter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-matter Antihydrogen might even be culled from Near-earth space: http://www.spacedaily.com/news/rocketscience-05zj.html The current Infinite Energy Magazine also talks about 'un-matter' where everything but the neutron has the anti-matter baryon spin. http://www.infinite-energy.com/iemagazine/issue62/ Exotic matter could be metastable fuels and whole molecules that act like atoms to join with others. There are metastable fuels--a proposed N 20 explosive, and a strange atom called the tetraneutron that may or may not exist--but that is still matter, as are the superatoms, metastable fuels, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetraneutron http://www.worldchanging.com/archives/002568.html http://www.llnl.gov/str/June01/Manaa.html Certain fringe science woo-woos talk about Gorgonic or vistaric Matter as in Egon Bachs book "UFO's from the Volcanoes' with an odd, different kind of 'anti-matter' and talk of 'work and anti-work.' Interesting--as are some of Maxwells equations. http://www.alibris.com/search/search...sK9LhJFRt4lLWg And then there is strange matter: (Shadow matter too?) http://www.physics.rutgers.edu/~jhol...e/strange.html But what you mean by anti-matter is just matter with a different baryon spin. |

Hi Antoniseb,
Thanks for that reply on Anti-Matter. I have another doubt on the Big Bang this the most accepted theory about the origin of Universe but how could the Universe can come out of nothing. I think that Big Bang is not the beginning of the Universe; I think it's just the expansion of the Universe. Fortunately I came to hear about the String theory which said the same thing. Can u give me u r opinion on this Please? Thank You! |

Hi Publisur,
Thanks ! The String theory is very much insisting on tha parallel universe and the collision between them lead to the expansion. This means that collision is what we call Big Bang. This means that Big Bang is not the beginning of the universe but just expansion according theory. What do u think on string theory? |

String theory is... complicated. I'll leave an explanation of that to someone better suited.

Over at the Big Bang vs. Big Slam is a uestion or two I posed about branes--and asked the uestion if a domain wall could be part of our brane that is 'exposed'--a naked brane if you will. Domain walls are 2D versions of SUPER strings (Cosmic strings) and there is even a 3D version--a 'texture'
I wonder if you could land on a texture. Could these be lensing objects--while being invisible itself? |
