Default Is Iapetus an artificial structure?

If anything it is one of the solar systems most bizarre looking moons.

It certainly has a nice belt and shiny parts!

How's that moon called that has totally different inner and outer hemispheres? (inner = facing the planet it's orbiting).
I don't mean our Moon, htough it has quite some differences between the inner and outer hemispheres as well .

Care to elaborate? It's a pretty strong claim to make so offhand.

Quite good evidence for the HIS theory, I say!

Now does anyone know which moon I was referring to with my excellent description a few posts up?

They were talking about this one morning on local talk radio. I got the impression that the hosts were surfing the net, found Hoagland's site, and picked out Iaptus to talk about, but did absolutely no other research. They fell completely for the whole Hoagland interpretation. I was fuming, but did not have my cell phone at the time.

Edited to add link.

Waitaminute... waitaminute! The stars appearing to be in the moon...

If stars on our Moon can't be seen, but stars can be seen not only around but also on this moon, and the ground is even illuminated but much darker, so the stars should be darker and we shouldn't see any at all, and should...

Whew! Almost thought myself into a tizzy there for a second!

Seriously, to answer another question concerning hemispherical difference, I believe (but can't say for sure) that the gravitational field dynamics for moon period of rotation matches it's period of orbit (tidal locked) will mean that it will encounter significantly different bombardment rates for meteors stricking the surface turned towards the planet than the surface turned away.

They're not Stars, they're just noise, remember the RAW data is uncleansed. I've been checking those pics for the last 3 days, amazing shots! I had been waiting on this Iapetus flyby for quite sometime now
