Default What do you think of this idea- a bunch of us getting together for the last shuttle?

What do you think of this idea- a bunch of us getting together for the last shuttle launch? Might be kinda neat to meet others from BABB and we could get to see history in the making as well. Also, just curious but what would the mission number be-
STS 1--? I might start a Facebook group.

I was thinking of going down for the launch of the last Hubble servicing mission.

I definitely want to go down to Florida for a launch someday; if not the Shuttle then Orion. Going for the last Shuttle launch might be good idea, though I'll still be working then. By the time Orion flies I should be retired.

Indeed. Teal octopi quoting RCH and armed with brussels sprouts can't keep me away.

Well, not meaning to be morbid, but depending on how reentry goes, it could be STS120, or STS122. . .

One more "major malfunction" and they'll never fly again, that much is clear. We just have to keep our fingers crossed.

Optimism is one of the cornerstones of the space program. I've been promising myself I'd be down there for one of them. 133 sounds good to me.

As Endeavour re-entered the atmosphere, I could hardly breathe. We must all hang together or we will all hang separately.

I'm hoping to make it down for 125, if at all possible. I definitely would love to see one before the shuttle is retired.

I saw an Apollo launch. Never seen a shuttle launch. Would like to see Orion's first trip!

If we halt the ISS, all versions of Ares, and transport Orion and Altair aboard DIRECTv3's Jupiter family of Shuttle-Derived Launch Vehicles, we just might make it back to the Moon by 2020.
